Call of Duty Film Plans? [Nov 18, 2009, 1:57 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
The New York Post has some quotes from actor Kevin McKidd where the star of HBO's Rome series says he may be reprising his Rome role in a movie, and there are discussions of him playing his Captain "Soap" MacTavish role from Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on the big screen, as there are discussions of a movie based on the Call of Duty series (thanks Ant via Dark Horizons).
"They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn't get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge, and now there are talks of a feature film," he revealed to PopWrap. Then came the kicker, when asked if he would be bringing Soap to life in the movie, he said, "if the script is good, and Gerard isn't available [laughs], then absolutely."

Wait a minute, the Call of Duty series has always cribbed movie scenes for set pieces (the newest one takes the shower scene from The Rock, wow that sounds bad). Can't they just make this movie by piecing together scenes from all the movies COD ripped off for it's levels?
I hope they do a video game tie in with the film.

The movie will be around 15 minutes and everyone has to share the same bucket of popcorn. Oh yeah and it's vhs quality and tickets are $30 each.
And 6 months later, the sequel will be called Duty Hero.
They need to release action figures and Call of Duty cereal along with the films debut!!

Wait, isn't the game itself just one 4 to 5 hour long playable movie?
