Out of the Blue

I joked with friends that the just-concluded weekend would be the high-point for the Giants in over a month, since they were not playing, and thus, could not lose again. Then the Eagles and Cowboys both lost and made the joke come true.

Referring to the "12 Sci-Fi Shows That Were Canceled Too Soon" article, I have to agree with Firefly and Terminator. Firefly was absolutely brilliant; it's an absolute crime against humanity that it was murdered in its cradle the way it was. TSCC was a victim of really bad writing at times, but the show was so friggin' rife with potential that it seems a crying shame to have axed it without giving it one more season to catch on.

My favorite mission was where LT Price did that assassination mission in the Ukraine, crawling through the formations of soldiers and moving APCs. Cool stuff.

Me too! I loved that mission! I love how I had to watch to flag and wait for the right time to strike. I waited until the flag was facing my way or the opposite. Then I knew there would be no sheer or drag. I could easily play an entire game like this.

Call of Duty: Sniper Cell

Other than the fact that it's the sequel to the first Modern Warfare, which was an excellent (if completely by the rails) shooter with awesome setpieces...

Well the defense for some of the QB's has been sucking majorly lately. Romo got sacked 5 times yesterday and was scrambling most of the game, and Aaron Rodgers has been mostly scrambling and getting crunched all the live long day so far this season. It makes all the difference. Then you watch teams like the Vikes, Colts, Pats where their QB's have all day long to throw a pass.

And people like MW2 because they can go "pew pew pew" as they play along.

Stephen there's a new ad appearing the middle of Blue's News that literally prevents the rest of the page from loading. While I didn't write down the name of the ad I did write down the name of the URL that's causing the problem: action.mathtag.com. If I see the ad again I'll be sure to let you know.

It's happening again via www.m-vin.com, for Snap Link Ads. The ad has a white background with a bunch of red, underlined words "Computer Game, PC Gams, Charcoal Grill, Chat Rooms, DLC, Raven, Action Game".

Could you investigate this? Otherwise I'll probably need to disable ads (even though I don't want to).

I know this will come across as a very noobish question, but what is the big deal about modern warfare 2? I haven't played shooters in years, but what sets this game apart from any other shooter and why is it such a big deal?

Other than the fact that it's the sequel to the first Modern Warfare, which was an excellent (if completely by the rails) shooter with awesome setpieces, and apparently REALLY awesome multiplayer, nothing. But the original sold like 14 million copies, and people always want more of a good thing.

And dear Lord did the Cowboys suck yesterday.

Dallas walked into a hornet's nest yesterday since Green Bay was embarrassed by a winless Tampa last week and their defense was in the hot seat. Not making excuses, but stating a point.

I still haven't heard a good reason for the 'unable to review the possession of a lost fumble' rule. What would be the reason the rule would be put in place? Isn't that what instant replay is for? Take that away and it's a two possession game. A call like that deflates whatever the team had left. Start feeling like the refs are against you too. Just saying...

And dear Lord did the Cowboys suck yesterday. How long is this Tony Romo farce going to continue?

I've been asking that question since last season. i don't know why Dallas holds on to him. The best thing Jones did this season was to get rid of T.O. I don't know why he didn't send Romo packing with him. Yesterday's game was embarrassing.

If the Giants played in college, the fact that both their closest rivals lost would have lead to them being voted number 1.

Nothing impresses the voters more than victories over "idle", as Ohio Fucking State demonstrated so aptly two years ago.

I was really pumped about the new Tim Burton's AiW until I first saw that it was a Disney film, and then saw the trailer for it.

How disappointing. I was hoping Burton would have gone more towards the Scissorhands/American McGee's Alice direction as opposed to another Willy Wonka. Alice in Wonderland is packed with locals that to me should support the psychologically unbalanced creepiness than the typical fun-for-kiddies zaniness.

Yeah, it's a Disney film, but they already made a cutesy cartoon. We're all grown up now, bring on the dark stuff!

If the show is never resurrected at least we got Serenity, which, to some degree, wrapped up the series.

I still live in hopes of more Firefly... picked up the boxset at a dvd shop one day and read it. "Meh looks arlight, and on sale for $20 (aud mind you).

How my perception of sci-fi western changed from "haha cowboys in space is silly" to "THEY CANCELED THIS?? WHY!!!".

Go go firefly! I'm a real sucker for good sci-fi =\ Even had my missus paying attention to SG1 instead of listening to her Twilight books crap =D

I was actually joking with my buddies that based on how bad the g-men have been playing, I wouldn't be surprised if they fell to 5-5 during their bye week. Funny how the NFC East was suppose to be this juggernaut division this year and no team in it has really lived up to their potential -- except maybe the redskins, everyone expected them to be bad. Glad to see they finally found a new qb in their punter yesterday
