I love this game but it crashes like mad on one of my home PCs. when I save there is a 50% chance it will crash. The bad thing is - it is a fresh 2 week old windows 7 build (carefully installing drivers etc) whereas my 4 year old XP machine plays it just fine.

great.

Tropico 3 is a great game, if you like that type of game. It it definitely a simulation game like SimCity or Rollercoaster Tycoon.

From what I remember, Populous was more of a RTS game. That being said, there is some overlap between RTS and simulation games these days.

Hmm it's been a long time since I've played Populous. I don't think it's like that. Think of Tropico 3 like Sim City but with perhaps more detail and a focus on being a dictator, ruthless or benevolent is your choice. Check out the demo.

So...I never got in on the Tropico bandwagon. But I was thumbing through an issue of GameInformer from late last year, and it showed a picture, and it was "Guess what game this is". And although it was 3:30 am, I was sitting at public works waiting for my squad to fill up, and I was using a little tiny light for reading......it looked a lot like Populous.

Have I been missing out on a great Populous clone all of this time?
