If you're referring to 1:1 pixel mapping then it's a fairly common feature these days on most name-brand televisions and monitors. I think even Acers and such do it now. The 360 and PS3 support many common monitor resolutions as well.

Slippery, I have heard horror stories of consoles on 16:10 screens, you need to have one that allows a certain kind of direct pixel tech to not get a stretched image. Make sure you google it so you can read a more intelligent post about it and see what I mean.

Get Little Big Planet for the kids and Uncharted 2 for yourself, Uncharted 2 is one seriously fking sweet game. Oh BTW you may want to reconsider if your TV doesnt support 720, PS3 will not scale up to 1080 it will down scale to 480.

Thanks for the tips. Little Big Planet was already on the list for the kids. Will look into Uncharted 2.

The console would be connected to my 27" Panasonic GAOO TV. The television still has an amazing image like it was still new. I wonder how the PS3 would look hooked up to my PC's LCD 19" monitor running at 1440x900? It is HDCP compatible so it should work with the PS3. I just don't have a clue what resolution it would actually run at and how crappy it would look.

Sorry, got off topic.

Me too, played through GTA4 on the 360, then got it on Steam. Been holding off playing the DLC until I heard a yes or no on DLC for the PC version.

Thank GOD. I for one LOVE Grand Theft Auto 4 and once I got the PC version there was no going back to the blurry mess on consoles, so I never played the DLC. This is a great thing, I am very happy.

I am finally giving in and getting a console for the kids for Xmas and I am going to get a PS3 despite the lack of DLC. Everything I have read says the failure rate of a 360 is over 50% and it is around 10% on a PS3.

With it's skydiving, the apparent return of Brucie (according to the credits in the manual)

Brucie got neutered into a gimp though. You get to deal with his big brother MORIE! (who's a giant cuntbasket, though he's funny as shit, especially at the end when he talks about how he took over a Kibbutz and turned it capitalist. Hehehehe.)

Kind of sad, since Brucie was my favorite character in GTA4.

I finished the Ballad of Gay Tony a few days ago, and it was pretty damn fun. The only thing I fucking hate is the miraculous "always keep up with you" mob guys who chase you in the drug wars missions.

Seriously, Rockstar? This seemed like a good idea? In your game where, if you were a good driver, you could always lose your pursuers, it seemed like a great fucking idea to have magical cars that would stay on your ass no matter what?

Yeah, I dont think it's the same guy doing the voice, and they're treating him like a pussy because of his brother. I agree though, I could play an entire game with Brucie as the protagonist, love that character! Hurricane fuckin' Brucie!

DLC is great but if the machine is dead it isn't much use.

Bruce is the fucking man!
I hope they do a DLC with him as the main character. Love that guy.

Sadly, I grabbed GTA4 on the console and never looked back. Played it 1x through and haven't touched it since.....didn't really get my moneys worth, but had fun doing it.

Need a sweet sale on the DLC disc...but I don't see that coming anytime soon. Those damn console discs just never discount. I will have to keep my eyes open on CL and half.com

Yeah, I'm in the good GFX card and memory, but aging processor situation. Not in the cards, right now, to do a full system upgrade...and I uninstalled GTAIV awhile back due to being frustrated with the performance and crashing issues.

Maybe I'll give it another shot, someday...right now, there's just too much on the table.

With it's skydiving, the apparent return of Brucie (according to the credits in the manual), and more of an emphasis on helicopter useage, BoGT looks more fun, in my opinion.

What? Did they add parachutes? so you can do base jumps too, damn now I'm pissed... I wonder if they will ever see the PS3 or was the exclusivity MS bought permanent, all those skyscapers and not a parachute in sight

While most people have powerful video cards, this game caused issues with many requiring a very strong CPU.

The game was heavily optimized for Quad-Cores at release, post-patches I have no issues with my dual core system though.

With more releases like this happening it's rather clear that the PC is still important for game sales.

I haven't played it in a while, but on my overclocked E8400 @ 4ghz, performance wasn't very good.. Around 40fps max. I know the consoles got about 30fps, but still my computer is far more powerful than those. (ati 4870 vid card) I'll try the latest patch, maybe that helped.

Perpetual debt is slavery.

The game runs fucking awesome on my high end PC, so I don't know what internet lies you're listening to. I don't have a frame counter active, but at 1920x1200 with max details, it never dips in choppy framerates. I'd say it stays above 60fps most if not all of the time. The in-game benchmark demo gives me an avg framerate of 75fps, so I don't understand the animosity some people seem to have.

After the latest patch, it never crashes anymore either, and texture flicker seems completely abolished.

What it is, is extremely CPU dependent, while tons of people are on 5 year old Athlon X2s with a Geforce 260.

Who cares? The PC version is still badly optimized and runs shitty on high end pcs.
