IO Interactive's Mystery Game

Computer and Video Games has word from IO Interactive on an unannounced title they have been developing for three years. It's pretty vague, but word on the game is a multiplatform title IO says is "unlike anything else." The game is described as a departure for studio (how else could it be "unlike anything else"?) of which they say: "Imagine all the violence of Hitman and Kayne [sic] & Lynch but not scripted."

Oh. My anticipation has been killed. That said, I'm still greatly anticipating the next Hitman game. I just hope they don't turn it into an action game like Splinter Cell: Conviction.

A big-budget, open-ended mystery game sounds intriguing. We get a lot of low-budget mystery adventure games from Europe but most aren't any good, nor are they terribly open-ended.

It's not actually a mystery game. What they mean is that the game itself is currently a mystery.

They didn't even fix the stuttering for Mini Ninjas? Wow, that's bad.

I got it in Kane & Lynch on XP, so it isn't just Vista. Of course, now that my Saitek Eclipse 2 has broken and I've moved on, it probably wouldn't happen to me anymore (unplugging the Saitek and plugging a different keyboard in would make it go away, even in the middle of a game plugging the Saitek back in would bring back the stuttering).

I'd rather have Hitman 5. Sure the Hitman games were scripted, but you could handle the mission in many different ways, giving the player a lot of freedom in playing. I'll take that style of play any day over a open-world game that gets dull really quickly (e.g. Far Cry 2).

get the usb stuttering crap with windows7 aswell.

fucking retarded they haven't managed to remove it in mini ninjas when they were aware of it with kane & lynch. if it's present in hitman5 aswell I'm not buying until they fucking fix it. best thing is they haven't patched kane & lynch nor mini ninjas once. a patch for k&l was even promised, but it never happened. assholes.

Wonder if they'll ever fix that damn studder issue that IO blames Vista for in their games.
You know selling dlc before you patch the client doesn't impress upon me the need to support your shit. -massdev
