NWN Premium Modules Yoinked

The BioWare Store is no longer offering sales of premium modules for Neverwinter Nights, and the Neverwinter Nights Premium Page has been eliminated KGB style. Sorcerer's Network reached out to BioWare for comment on this, and were told that the modules were removed in August at ATARI's behest for "legal reasons," and that BioWare can no longer sell or advertise them. Modules already purchased are still legal and playable.

Yeah, Diamond Edition doesn't have Infinite Dungeons... Which is, I'm sad to say, the best one, if you have friends who just like to use NWN as a dungeon-crawl, diablo-esq game. If you liked NWN for the story-based modules, it's pointless though.

And like a poster below me, I'm re-downloading an archiving it right now.

Am I missing anything if I have the Diamond Edition retail package? I know it comes with 3 or 4 premium modules.

It would annoy me to know there are some I can now never play.

Since Atari owns NWN License and all, can Atari re-publish all of the Bioware Premium Mods on disc or through digital distribution?

I have no idea what you're talking about, but you're welcome I guess.

Prez, thanks for the laughs. You have proved that the Valve technique can work wonders...and it didn't even cost the guy a plane ticket. Bravo Derek.

Derek you mentioned before that DA:O's DLC was made with a different team then the main DA:O team?

If so my congrats on integrating Shale into the Main quest/quests. Especially with the party conversation's Shale has with the other companions.

Would still have liked to been able to go back inside the Warden's Keep after I completed it to get the sword I missed.

I'm re-downloading all the premium module installers right now as a backup, just in case those disappear too. Don't want to be without my Infinite Dungeons if I have to reinstall NWN later on.

Don't get me wrong Derek - I'm glad for you that you were able to make some more cash off of the premium modules, especially since the continued support for NWN was so good.

The best module I played was Darkness over Daggerford, and that was made free. Sadly, the "paid" module that Ossian made, Wyvern Crown of Cormyr, wasn't that good.

The only premium module I enjoyed was Infinite Dungeons, since it brought back the old feeling of Dungeon Hack (an old D&D DOS game) and was the closest NWN got to being a truly accessible co-op game.

We have never sold NWN2 premium modules on the BioWare Store.
The NWN premium modules weren't all that great anyway. Many of the freely available user-made campaigns at NWN Vault were superior, and they are all free.
Fair enough, but that was the point, to give people choices. Thankfully, many people liked the modules and their sales funded the continued NWN patches for another couple of years, beyond what we had originally planned. It certainly worked out well for BioWare and for the community since we released the content from the Premium Modules in subsequent patches.

Oh and just for the record, it's NWN 1, not 2, in question here.

Probably an "EA owns Bioware now" type dealy. Doubt Atari wants their products sold by another publisher.

Ah, such transparency and openness. I don't see what's so hard about making a proper announcement about these sorts of things. Frakkin lawyers to blame as usual I am sure.
