Aus Borderlands Fixed [Oct 27, 2009, 8:26 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Games On Net reports that the version of Borderlands being served to
Australian customers through Steam has been fixed, and Australia is now
receiving the uncut edition of the game, rather than the censored
version. That's the good news, the bad news is those who have already gotten
their copy through Steam will need to download the full 8 GB game to get the
right version.

Bah, it's not even available here in the UK yet. I mean, it's not like it's hard to coordinate a simultaneous international launch, especially with digital distribution.

Funny story, many of our ISP's over here have Steam caches which our client can preselect if our ISP count steam access against our quotas.
Of course, Borderlands isn't being allowed to be cached over here yet, so we can't get it off quota.
I don't know who fucked up more but Steam + 2k = fucking clownshoes.

I've canceled my Steam pre-order, along with my Dragon Age pre-order through them. And additional 8Gb download on top of the one I'd previously done would kill my monthly download limit (... well damn close to it anyway). Very unprofessional, Steam. Very unprofessional.
It might not seem like a big dealio to re-download that 8GB, but the majority of internet access in OZ is based on download quota's for each month. For example im paying $75/month for a 40GB limit.
So to re-download that 8GB can take out quite a chunk, especially if you have already thrown away 8GB the first time around.
