Most likely it doesn't help right now, and you're just as well off buying a version with 1GB. I didn't find it the first time through, but they do have a 1GB version as well :http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102841
I guess it kind of depends on what you value more. To me, a quiet graphics card is a must. I hate vacuum cleaners in my room. If noise isn't so much an issue, then don't spend any extra money on a quieter cooler.
As for the 1GB vs 2GB, right now I doubt there's anything that uses the extra Gig, but if you keep the card for two years or so, it's not out of the question that you'll come across something that uses it. (Rage perhaps?)
30 bucks for an extra Gig of V-RAM, eh, to each his own whether it's worth it or not. Now that I found the 1GB version, I'd probably recommend that one.
Edit : Pricewise it seems about even with a GTX275. I've seen very few performance reviews that compare the two, but I think they were fairly even. (4890 vs. 275)
This GTX275 comes with a free copy of Batman.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130475
But I see a lot of people saying that it runs pretty damn hot (75-90 celsius, which is SMOKY). The 4890 I linked stays around 50-70 under load.
