I don't know why everyone's so down on Nintendo's controllers. I think the N64 and Gamecube controllers were a couple of the best ever designed. They weren't very good for games whose controls weren't designed with them in mind (durr), but they were amazing for the ones that were.
While it's obvious the N64 controller was designed for either D-pad or anolog use, it was made quickly obsolete my controllers that let you use both (i.e. Sony' Dual Analog controller). And the little yellow buttons weren't very good. The Gamecube controller was alright, but imho the weakest compared to the redsigned XBox controller and the PS2 controller.
IMHO, Sony's Dual Analog/DualShock is about as good as gamepads come, which is probably why it's remained almost unchanged for 3 generations of consoles now. And even on the PC Logitech's Rumblepad is a carbon copy of it.This comment was edited on Sep 5, 2009, 23:30.
