That is the EU PSN list, not the USA one.

This is the best info I have ran across at figuring out what is coming out before it's posted...

http://playstationlifestyle.net/2009/08/26/rumored-ps-store-content-for-082709/

Sometimes the Playstation forum has a fan based rumor thread that actually has some good info as well.

After the PSN content is posted (late in the day every Thursday) you will see it listed here:

the 50 buck xbox pricedrop also means the box doesnt include the HDMI cable now. That cuts into the pricedrop of course.

Their reasoning on that was pretty lame "less than 50% of Xbox 360 owners ever use the HDMI cable". So what? That doesn't mean you take it out of the box. Also I was checking out the new PS3 at Bestbuy last night and it doesn't even come with a component cable. What is it with these companies making HD console systems and not even providing basic accessories? When I bought my SNES it came with all of the A/V connectors, 2 controllers and a game

Microsoft ought to try dropping the price of their hard drives to something closer to market level, rather than keeping them at the ridiculously inflated price they currently have.

The video game industry would do better to pinning their hopes on releasing games that aren't bug-ridden out of the box and don't suck. Betting your livelihood on the hopes that someone else will do something in your favor is not a viable business model.

Don't really see what this has to do with the topics but ok I guess. Most games I play aren't very buggy these days, even on the PC.

They should but they won't because retards keep buying the hard drive. At this point it makes more sense to buy an Elite, keep the HD and sell the system separately as you'd still come out ahead.

So now instead of being able to pay ~$270 for a decently-equipped Pro model, I'm forced to pay $299 for a (still) overpriced Elite if I want an Xbox with a HD?

disclaimer: I already own a Pro, but with friends that are considering buying a 360...this annoys me. Price cut my ass.

edit: For some reason I was under the impression that the Pro model was going for ~$270, when it was actually $299. So while it's not the price 'hike' I thought for a HDD-equipped Xbox 360, the lack of a middle ground still kind of sucks. Add in the lack of HD cables on the new Elite SKUs, and I'm still mildly grumpy...but not as much as before.

The Pro's price was cut as well, but if you read, it says "only while supplies last".

Apparently MS is dropping the Pro, only to have the Arcade and Elite models, which means after those are gone, if you want a hard drive you have to get the Elite model.

I still think the Elite is a better deal than the pro. HDMI cables can be had very cheap online.

However, bleh. With the PS3 going down to $299 Microsoft should have cut it more. $279 would have been smart. Undercut! And keep those HDMI cables. If we can get them cheaply, Microsoft, you can get them even cheaper. We like added value!

There's enough Pro SKU's in the channel to find them for years to come so again, what exactly is your complaint? The Elite is slightly more and you get a better value. You sound like you're bitching just for the sake of it.

Yeah, if you read the edit on my original post, you'll see I was mistaken about what I thought was the current (pre-cut) price of the Pro. If the Pros were $270 like I had thought..then eliminating them and only leaving a $299 option for a HDD-equipped 360 was my gripe.

Just a little misplaced nerd-rage.

Though I doubt you'll be able to find Pro's for 'years to come'

I don't know man, I still see the Pro holiday bundles all over the place. The 60GB SKU was very very popular and I can easily see it lasting a long time.

Honestly, this makes the Elite much less, well, Elite.

Microsoft really should have sucked it up, killed the Arcade, and gone with one SKU at $250. Have the bigger HD, stick with the crappy cables, call it a day. Everyone is happy.

People love the Arcade though. I have no idea why, I think it's retarded but it doesn't change the fact that there are far more Arcade owners out there than Pro/Elite.

I was really excited until:

1. I realised that the demos were not for true songs, but rather original works composed by amateurs.

2. The songs made cannot be under copyright laws, meaning this is basically an upgraded version of what GH:WT has, which I could care less for. There will be around 20 good submissons, and most of those will be $3 most likely.

It was my understanding that any artist that owns their material could create a RB track - is that not the case?

Even though Xbox lowered it's price, now is the perfect time to make the switch from Xbox to PS3. Price is right, and you can avoid going download only on titles at some point with Xbox. Free Blu-ray, wireless, and multiplayer to boot. Start your collection on PS3 instead with all cross platform titles and make a clean break while you can. You don't want to come to that conclusion later.

going download only on titles at some point with Xbox

You're welcome to the rest of your opinion but this is factually incorrect and misleading. There are no download only titles on Games on Demand, they all have retail disc offerings. In fact, the PS3 has download only games on the PSN that are not available in retail format.

I agree however that now is the best time to pick up a PS3 for anyone who was waiting, the price isn't likely to drop again any time soon. For those just wanting a videogame system, I'd caution you to avoid Z9000's opinion and weigh everything objectively beforehand. There are pros and cons to all of them and the system you buy can drastically change what games are available to you in certain genres.

You can buy an HDMI cable for ~ 5 bucks online, plus a few bucks shipping, so it's not that big a deal.
