Also, preordering the game through Direct2Drive
gets you access to that beta well as a custom horsie for use in the game.

Riker: Were you using a download manager like GetRight, Orbit, wget (used this one), etc.? I just finished downloading and unzipped this 4.9 GB zip file! And yes, I am going to try this game if I have time.

I love waiting 30 minutes for a download to start and then the download suddenly appearing done an hour later, except that it's nowhere near done and can't be resumed.

Ah its not that bad, its just really dated, kinda clunky graphics, bit of a dumb start (youre given an assault rifle to do the intro then pushed into the world with a nail gun which is a bit of a downer) not very intuitive interface, complicated crafting and advancement system - basically i am sure id have a blast if i put lots of time into it but I didnt like eve for that reason too. Its not that bad.
