testing will be released tomorrow for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II.

all the changes in There is Only War (remember when patches just had version
numbers?), including bug fixes, map fixes, networking improvements, and
extensive balance tweaks, though it neglects to mention the eight new maps it
adds to Relic's sci-fi RTS sequel. The patch is expected at 11:00 am PDT, which
is 2:00 pm EDT.

Well the impression I'm getting is that it's quite a bit like DoW: Dark Crusade's campaign where you can upgrade your 'hero' or what not, which was pretty damn cool.

I got bored of single-player pretty quick. The missions are too generic and the levels too repetitious. I've never really cared about loot or leveling so they don't offer much incentive for me to continue playing the game.
Absolutely. The singleplayer is an absolute blast thanks to the RPG-like levelling and item drops, while the lack of base management means the game is much more about action and properly commanding your squads. The multiplayer is also a great deal of fun when it works but is very tedious when it doesn't, which is unfortunately most of the time.

I was thinking about grabbing this game mainly for the single player component. Worth it or no?

Considering I still had lag problems during the beta patch I'm very doubtful that the final patch will the improve the situation much. It's a shame that the matchmaking is so terrible as the game itself is actually very fun.
