No offense, but Fallout Tactics only seemed that way if you didn't know what you were doing. What can I say Professional other than: you're wrong? By the the end of FOT, my team was walking around in power suits, practically invulnerable (granted, this was in part due to how I developed them over the course of the game), half of them armed with railguns.

Robots were a waste of time, as were Deathclaws... I mean, statistically speaking, why bother? Why use them when you could use another guy in power armor? You're talking to guy that beat the game several times and played it online A LOT. I like Fallout and I even liked FOT, but the whole bigger better BADDDER armor dynamic runs contrary to tactics, generally speaking.... why take cover when you can walk out with a battleship wrapped around your waist?

Oh, and no one here said that power armor was inappriorate to Fallout.

So, SO agreed. The Panzerkleins were a bad idea. I see what they were going for, but they really shouldn't have.

It's not even a matter of tacked on sci-fi with me. It's a matter of altering the gameplay for the worse. Power armor takes the game from life-or-death cover-to-cover tactics... to a boring, toe-to-toe firepower slugfest. It might as well be a naval battle.

Fallout Tactics had the same problem.

See, don't mess with gamers. We'll obsess your ass straight into jail. :-) Seriously though, after having to put up with hackers, pirates and 1337 d00dz for years it's nice to finally see those intent on ruining my hobby brought to some justice.

This screenshot fails to entice. A game where someone shoots people... wow. I mean, wow, I'm stunned. Maybe it's a really cool game - I dunno - but if you're trying to pique someone's interest this isn't how you do it.

And that whole "tastes like chicken" thing basically screams "Yep, still no writers over here..."

"I disagree. I find the story in Planescape: Torment to be much better."

Seconded.

THQ isn't EA, but it's still THQ. Bleah. Relic makes good stuff - I'd hate to see them go south.

If this is true, then it is indeed a sad day for gaming. One sad day in a long string of sad days.

Welp, that tears it for me. My monitor was always dark, but it's never been THIS dark before. When the game told me to adjust my brightness to see the squares... I couldn't see any squares, and my brightness was already maxed. Is there some sort of gamma slider on the screen that I'm unable to see?

You know, when I first heard about SCPT multiplayer I couldn't imagine how any third-person SC-esque interface could compete with the traditional first-person shooter setup. Now I know my concerns were justified.

I've been boycotting EA ever since they laid me off... and not *because* they laid me off. Rather, I am boycotting them because, in working for them, I saw why they are not deserving of my money.

Could they be talking about the Freedom Force characters? It's the only superheroes they currently have access too that I'm aware of.

EA? Boo Marvel, BOO! Fighting games? Boo again, Marvel. If you absolutely MUST go with EA, have them do something like Freedom Force.

Oh my God, what exactly was the Nightwalker demo-movie supposed to be demonstrating? It spat out about twenty or so errors at launch, then when it finally started *going* it kept showing the opening splash screen every three seconds. And what engine is this? It looks like Quake 1... done wrong! Nice surface conflicts, guys! Oh, and I've seen better aliasing on a saw blade! Stupid thing crashed out at the end and screwed up my desktop. (Shakes fist at "developers.")

I'm confident that EA hasn't learned a damn thing... they've just learned to pretend like they have.

Halo PC is fun, if also a bit chuggy. And Breed wasn't as bad you all are making it out to be. It was just... not good. It certainly wasn't what we were expecting.
