While I don't particularly care about the PVP stuff, I would like this game to hit all its goals. Maybe then they'll increase the number of mechs/support you can bring to the battles. At least that's what I'm hoping...

And that's why you get things in writing. You'd think there might be an appeal here at a Federal level. I'm sure Charter has taken tax dollars to deliver broadband in rural areas. He may be able to go after them from that angle.

Yeah, and when the court cases are done in 5-10 years, maybe he'll get some service. Not because he won, but just because at that point he'll be in the middle of a highly populated area.

No cable company is going to put anything like that in writing anyway. They have absolutely nothing to gain from it.

I'm in for $50. The Shadowrun games have been really good (better with each new one they've released), and I don't doubt that these guys can deliver. I kinda wish they'd support up to company level engagements rather than just lance level. Maybe in a sequel or expansion...

Looks like they won't have much trouble hitting $1M. At least we should get the single-player campaign out of it. That's what I'm looking forward to.

Even that Google thing is laughable. Are you saying that Google cannot promote its OWN product and services on its OWN platform?!?

That depends entirely on whether they are considered a monopoly or not. If they are, and they leverage that monopoly to give themselves an advantage in other markets, that's pretty much the textbook definition of an antitrust violation.

I don't know that there's any reason to believe they have a monopoly to begin with though, but then I've not studied the market, so I couldn't say anyway.

Android a monopoly? iOS? Apple? HELLO?

Like I said, I don't know that you could call it a monopoly. Android does far exceed IOS marketshare worldwide though.

So I started this game because everyone gushes about it. I don't like it at all. It's boring as hell, every character is unlikable and the mechanics are glitchy and painful. I've been playing with my GF, because she's not a gamer and I thought that she could like it, but she doesn't either.

Max is sooo whiny and boring and makes the worst decisions possible. It's really frustrating playing her and being forced into obviously dumb situations. The writing's pretty bad sometimes too. Characters say things that literally don't make any sense and everyone carries on like nothing happened. The time thing is neat, but the application is terrible. It glitches all the time. Once, I rewinded and it showed me a totally different scene for no reason. Also you're forced to watch really long scripted sequences several times...

Anyway, we've done the first two episodes and basically decided to give up and play other, better games in this genre.

I actually feel that way about a lot of games. I'm not sure but I think it was particularly bad in Dragon Age Origins where during a dialogue none of the options that I was given made any friggin' sense and it would have been much easier to say something completely different, which also would have resolved the situation much better.

Any game with different dialogue options will have that.

With that said, Life is strange hasn't been so bad in that respect so far and I enjoyed the game greatly. Really looking forward to the finale.
For me, that was Walking Dead Season 2. I hate the second-to-last "decision" with an absolute passion, where you're forced to choose between two opposite choices (with no middle ground), with stupid consequences either way.

Maybe I would have liked it more if I watched the show, but it seemed so artificial and like lazy writing to me.
Sounds pretty much like the show to me, which is why I stopped watching the show sometime in season 2.

I haven't tried this one yet but I'm hoping it lives up to the hype.

That being said, if you like the genre have you tried Wolf Among Us? It's great, and it got me to start reading the also-great Fables comics series.

I just finished The Wolf Among Us last week. Great game. I may do another play through later too. I tend to wait for the game to be finished before picking it up though. I'm waiting for the Borderlands game to wrap up, and I've been considering Life is Strange as well, but still not sure if I'll like it.

Shows how little you guys know about PoE. There is no sync issues anymore they built a little thing called lockstep in and NO ARPG has anything like it - it's glorious.

I don't care which one is "best", I had both on my radar for a very long time, but this is they way it played out like it or not.

D3 is a baby arpg, nothing like d2 and nothing unique about it. PoE is the king daddy, true successor to d2 and filled with innovation. You don't have to agree, it's a fact.

So what you are saying is they have horrible netcode and had to jury rig a way to sync the game?
Reminds me of 'Lag shooting' in Mechwarrior 3. You had to double lead your target to compensate for shitty net code.

He has nothing better to do, POE is such a great game that he sits around here spamming about it, jealous of other people having fun in other games rather than actually playing it.

PoE actually is a pretty great ARPG. It's come a long way in the last year or so. They've made a lot of improvements to the netcode and playing in lockstep mode feels pretty good, especially for hardcore. You always know exactly where you and everything else actually are, because you're always in sync with the server.

There are always going to be some things that people don't like or think should be better, but that's pretty much true of every game.

It's kind of weird seeing people talking about it that have only made it into Merciless difficulty, as that's basically the beginning of the game, not the end. They've made the leveling process a lot better in the most recent update. Removed redundant and boring areas, made it easier to access more skills earlier, and generally made the areas more interesting and designed better layouts.

Some of the early combat footage looks really bad. Hoped they went with turn-based. What I have seen looked really messy and boring. The rest of the game? Amazing.

No they did not go with turn based. Was Syndicate in any way turn based? Because that is what this is a spiritual successor of.

That's a point, but the combat in Syndicate was a totally broken horrible mess.

This is basically true. I played the hell out of Syndicate back in the day, and the expansion too. It was mostly a matter of planning your actions, doing whatever you could without getting noticed, and then attempting to execute your plan.

That's generally about the time that things would be awesome and you would carry out a perfectly executed mission, or something unexpected would happen and things would get crazy really quick. This was also sometimes awesome

But I do agree that the combat was difficult to control well, and some innovation in this area would be great. The space bar pause type of combat might be a good compromise. That could be really fun.

Well, you are the one who made the comment about the PP video, with apparently no research done on that.

It's pretty clear no matter how it's spun, and in this case you guys defend execs making 500k+ in a "non-profit" organization who spins the corporate "covering costs" in one of 5 released videos regarding the murder of babies and sending of their body parts.

Imagine if these videos were comcast talking about covering costs for broadband... wow the outrage then!

You're ignoring the fact that this has been standard practice in the medical community for decades, and the fees they charge for handling are more than reasonable, and certainly not profitable. If this weren't the case, they wouldn't have had to do so much editing to make it appear corrupt.

If by filming you mean filming and then heavily editing so as to create a narrative that they wish to present, never mind the facts, then you are correct.

This folks is pure delusion and denial, and the epitome of what's wrong with society these days.

Nope. The video was edited by a pack of liars.
