"Vincent Murphy,
Wow, way to troll for two games at once. Nice one! "

Thanks! I've been practicing! I pretty much hated Shadowbane, though: not as much as AO, of course. But I think once you open the game to player vs player the way SB has, there should be absolutely no reason for anyone to yell 'grief!'

My main problem with SB is that it didn't take long for someone to abuse the client. Sloppy coding after 4 years of development = cancelling my account.

Not jumping onto Galaxies, either, though. I'll wait for the paying beta testers to work out the bugs.

"Me? I was fighting elves in Shadowbane and masturbating to free thumbnail posts.

But hey, at least I didn't buy SWG hahaha!"

Yeah, like Shadowbane was any better at launch (and is still the ugliest MMORPG out there).

I guess if you like getting slaughtered by God-power wielding script kiddies, Shadowbane's the game for you.

Played the beta, wasn't terribly impressed. Will wait about 6 months for the game to actually be out of the "paid beta test" though before considering buying it.

I was unable to play the beta for a long enough amount of time to form a strong opinion: the game was either down or I had to download massive patches (I know, it was a beta). When I did play, I found the interface to be a little confusing and not terribly user-friendly. Took me a while to figure out what the heck to do.

At one point, I was gunning down desert creatures right and left, but I really felt like I was just playing Everquest with a ray gun. I was never able to play long enough to get beyond that. And everytime I would group, the game/client would crash on me.

Still, given about 6-8 months, I suspect this might be a decent enough game. I think I like the more casual pace of Dark Age of Camelot, myself.

"I also like the ability to criticize games that I don't like"

So, calling a game "gay" is now criticism? Woohoo. One of the PC mags better sign you up quickly: they need intelligent criticism like yours.

With Anarchy Online, why bother playing the beta when you can play it when they release it as finished?

Isn't this closing the barn door AFTER the cow has escaped, fled to Europe, and lived the high life for 2 years?

Really, though, while others will note that Worlds of Warcraft is being done separate from Battle.Net, I still have many concerns with Blizzard and security.

If I play this game, though, I lose valuable time for leveling my EQ characters. Can't have that!

Trust me: the casual gamer will not be buying a Warhammer game.

Installed the demo. Sheesh. That's 600Megs I'll never get back. No, wait, I will get them back!

Really, though, played a little: reminded me of Aliens vs. Predators. Not a bad thing, I guess.

I always hate seeing stuff like this refered to as being "Darwin Nominee" worthy: remember, to get a Darwin Award, the act must remove your genes from the gene pool. So, unless the guys dies, the most he can hope for is an honorable mention.

Less of an actual server hack, and more of some folks tricking the client into a god mode. If anything, this is pretty sloppy programming. Doesn't give me the warm fuzzies about the company, either way, though.

Not to mention the three or four ear-bleed-inducing crap songs you have to sit through. That's 10 minutes of my life I want back.

Agreed. The Nightmate difficulty level scares me: I can't even win when all the opponents are set at "Fool" level.

The AI in this game is just awesome, though.

I'm sure both the players will have fun at this. Maybe they could invite the AO players and make it an even 10.

Heck, can't be good unless the demo is over 100 megs: I think that's a law.

I think all the games sites are in E3 mode, rather than game review mode at this point: there's probably just aren't any new reviews being generated.

Next week, though, things will most likely return to normal.

Unless they can keep the Matrix fandom alive for the 2-3 years it'll take to get this game out, it will fail. There just isn't enough backstory at this point for an actual RPG.

Plus, this will suffer from everyone wanting to be the "cool" characters. If you are playing in a world where everyone is a Neo, what's the point?
