what sorry, degenerate asshole would take the time to shoot off an email actually threatening anyone over a videogame?
Haha, I did that once when Valve was taking a while to release the Half-Life SDK back in 1999. It was really more of joke in poor taste. So your answer is a stupid 14 year old with a shitty sense of humor.
uhh, this law does put it in the hands of the parents. Only the parents can by the games for their kids, in theory. Sure it won't work, but it's not the government doing the job of parents, it's the government helping parents with their job. IMHO, the whole police violence thing is stupid, though
meh, plays just about the same as it used to. So some guns have been tweaked, the sounds aren't as great, and the netcode's been a little b0rked. Get used to the guns, download some sound replacement pack, wait for the imminent patch, and don't pay a dime.
All this law does is make it a little harder for children to obtain video games containing objectionable material without their parent's permission. I don't think it will be all that effective, but it doesn't hurt anything.
Yes it was originally for the Mac, but it wasn't almost done when MS bought them. There's a quote from someone from Bungie that said they didn't have a playable level at that point. Someone posted it earlier, and I'm too lazy to look it up. Anyways, I didn't like Halo because it had sickeningly formulaic gameplay, uninspired level design, and the XBox controller is pathetic compared to the keyboard and mouse. Halo was in no way revolutionary when it comes to gameplay.
Software companies write software to make money. Valve has made tons of money off of one game and could continue to for a very long time. Valve could probably keep milking Half-Life for another 5 years. Where's the incentive to create a new game? Guess what, there isn't any. As long as they can repackage HL and make money off of it, they will. All that a new game would do is steal HL's thunder. Overall profits would be less. Anyways, the more times HL is repackaged, the more time Valve has to polish up whatever they're working on. A software company owes you exactly nil. They don't care if you hate them as long as enough people buy their software. TAE, anyone that bought more than one of the HL package DESERVED to lose their money. They are most likely idiots which ought to be removed from the gene pool, so I think a few dollars lost is getting off pretty easy. Anyone that dislikes a company just because they are able to sell the one and only product they make rather well is an idiot. Valve is no Microsoft. Microsoft is an anti-competitive monopoly that thrives on complacency. Valve is a company that created a quality product that is wildly successful and they're milking it for all its worth. It only makes sense.
My executable has the same byte size (134,046,476) as the one on the fileplanet page, AND IT DOESN'T WORK! I can only connect at 24000bps and it took me a day to download it. Maybe you should consider NOT serving up corrupt files and wasting peoples time, joost.
