I play none of those games, so I'll wait for HL2 before I think about loading it.
EB is showing HL2 as 11/19/03.
On Sept 30th, ATI will announce their new 9800XT at Alcatraz in San Francisco. And it's rumored Valve will release the benchmark program.
Bla, we're not getting HL2 on the 30th. If we we're, the benchmark program would be out, and the game would be gold.

There's really nothing left of Blizzard with the 3 main people leaving to start their own studio.
That's what we're seeing these days, a bunch of little studios that can work on a piece of a game, but not the entire thing. Like Raven is doing with Q4. JC makes the engine, and Raven only works on the MP part of the game.
Do you think what's left of Blizzard can make a new game? No.

It's like a band breaking up. It's never the same. The artist that goes solo usually fades away, and so does the band.
So there's no reason for MS to buy the company, because it's not profitable to them.

No matter how much time they spend, there will be a few bugs they couldn't think of.
So go ahead, release the game on the 30th like planned, and then expect a patch next week.

I know. I play T2 on HV (60 players) and Rifleman's (40 players). When I play on servers with 32 people or less, the game can swing from 1 person leaving.
Game developers think everyone has tons of friends, or we're in clans. Not so. I play on pubs. They're supposed to make the new games handle 60 people, not 4.

They make a few 1 liner comments, but in general, all feedback is dismissed as dumb, stupid, not needed, or whatever.
I never see them asking for advice, like hey fans, what do you think of this. Instead, it's their way (probably 1 person), and only their way.

Awww, screw it. For every day the game is delayed past Sept 30th, is how long I'll wait to buy it after the release date.
Just bought 5 N64 used games from EB. Whooo Hooo. An entire system is only $30, and it works, they sell them at the stores, and then you can find all the games online. That will keep me busy while waiting.

I've been following this because I'm a roller coaster fan.

They're being "French" about the whole thing. They screwed up going in debt, and now they think they can get 3 billion extra just because.
I doubt this sale will happen soon. Vue is gonna string everyone out, piss everyone off, and will probably sell in pieces when noone cares anymore.

They'd be nuts to release it on 11/28/03, the day after Thanksgiving. Granted, it's the most busy shopping day of the year, most stores would probably not have the game stocked.
They need to stay with the September 30th date so the stores can stock their shelves. Word of mouth advertising would then spread, and parents would buy the game the day after Thanksgiving.

They keep putting out these movies like HL2 and the game is due out NEXT November.
They're hyping ragdoll physics and I could care less about that, it's gameplay that matters to me.

I mean, it's pointless to buy the newest card because you have to build a new machine to take advantage of it.
I'm waiting until next year after the holidays to build.
