Hylis: What's the status of Puzzle mode for TM2? (It is going to happen at some point, right?)
Also, I'm sure there's plenty of creativity among Ubisoft employees, but for anyone who cares about DRM, Ubisoft is pretty much the most hated big publisher there is, and Nadeo selling itself to Ubisoft was one of the saddest items of gaming news ever. |

Jerykk: They haven't said that they've "scrapped" it; just that they're just not working on it for now. But I gather that "looking" interesting was the best you could say about it, because there wasn't any decent gameplay. |

Hello Hylis. I'm fascinated to see how Shootmania will turn out, so good luck with that.
In the meantime there seems no better opportunity for me to say directly to someone at Nadeo that I was tremendously disappointed to find that TrackMania2 lacked the brilliant Platform mode from the previous games. As soon as you bring Platform back, TM2 will go on my shopping list. |

Funnily enough, that all comes as no surprise whatsoever.
Some years ago I remember reading that they were concentrating on their procedurally-generated city technology, and would figure out the gameplay later. Now, I've not been following the development, but a mention crops up every now and then and I had yet to read anything which sounded like they'd figured out the gameplay.
Classic Introversion, frankly.
Darwinia was nice, mind -- I loved all the retro touches they packed into it. |

A demo to a Trackmania game would either be shitty if they don't allow user-created content, or identical to the main game if they do allow it. Um, what?
A demo without user-created content would be *absolutely fine* and just what people would expect. When it comes to content, demos are pretty much *supposed* to be shitty by comparison with the retail product. No one would ever buy the games otherwise. The whole idea is to give enough of a taste that they want to pay for more. I'm pretty sure this is obvious to most people.
Include a small handful of decent tracks so the player can experience the handling/gameplay of the Canyon car and environment, see how the new graphics run on their machine, etc.
Nations is obviously going to be somewhat indicative, but it's not a demo version of Canyon. |

All along I've been thinking that TM2, which is lacking the awesome game modes of its predecessors, seems far more like a sequel to Nations than a sequel to the retail TrackMania games. I just didn't expect Nadeo to come right out and say it. |

WyldKat: The original IL-2 Sturmovik had no dynamic campaign. That was introduced in Forgotten Battles.
And frankly, we have been *ludicrously* spoiled by the quantity of flyable aircraft that the IL-2 series has ended up with. The amount of effort that goes into creating each of those planes is staggering, so a dozen planes is nothing to sniff at (most flight sims do not provide so many).
Now, that said, I understand that there are some pretty significant problems with Cliffs of Dover, so I'm not going to defend it unreservedly or anything. Just trying to add a little perspective.

Yeah, Trine was all kinds of fun! (I hope everyone grabbed it in the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle, if they hadn't already bought it before then.)
Trine 2 ought to be instabuy material. |

I think we established that "MW2" needs a "COD:" prefix if it is intended to refer to Call of Duty. I kinda thought it would follow that the same would obviously apply to "MW3". And for future reference, there was also a MW4, and there has been talk of a MW5, so this should be considered an ongoing pattern. |

I wish Digital Eel had a new SAIS/WW sequel game ready to roll out, so that they could capitalise on the free marketing
I'm sure a strategically-timed Weird Worlds sale would also do decently well, though. I hope they're on it. |

gilly775 wrote on Aug 17, 2011, 08:34: What? You expect your addon to work every time a new browser update it released? It's ALWAYS been that way. Except that before Mozilla switched their version numbering to the new Meaningless Bollocks format, the extension authors actually had some hope of estimating and specifying which future versions of Firefox would still be compatible with their extension.
Now they have absolutely no clue, because every tiny little update is a new major version, and who knows what the fuck may or may not have changed internally. |
