Interesting! Though I never got into the PC game much, the Atari Jaguar version of Aliens vs. Predator game was awesome! Rebellion created that game as well I believe. One of my favorites.

According to another source http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=13868 Left 4 Dead on the 360 has sold 2 million worldwide (1.7M in America...not sure if that means all of NA or just the US). They also have a page on the PC version, but don't seem to be tracking numbers for it (http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=21979&region=All).

Not sure how relevant or accurate vgchartz is but any name that uses chartz with a Z in the name must be on top of things eh?

So far, I have to agree. I'm only on Chapter 2 at the moment, but I'm having a blast.

I'm not sure about the PS3 version, but if you have the Xbox version, there's a free level 5 suit on the Marketplace.

Heh, I thought the same thing. Now to see about outsmarting that Napoleon guy...

That's exactly where I'm at! Or at least I was until I got sidetracked by The Witcher. Psychonauts gets better and better the farther into the game I get. I can't say that about too many games.

You should probably enable ads on Blue's site just so our friendly El Presidente can show the UGO overlords pretty charts with lots of ad hits.

Done. I wasn't sure how to do this exactly, but it looks like Tools -> Adblock -> 'Whitelist this whole site' did the trick.

Oh and by the way? Ugh, I hate ads.

As for the game itself, it was Eidos's meddling that ruined Invisible War. Now we get a game made by Eidos itself? I'll pass. Plus the voiceover for the teaser was really, really corny.

As a huge fan of DX1 I'd love to hear more about this Eidos meddling. I was really surprised that Witchboy changed the basic game structure for DX2 so much...maybe this explains why.

DX2 was the greatest letdown for me.

Anyway, does anyone have any sources for thie meddling?

Haha LPB's. I haven't heard that term in years! I certainly do not fondly remember my ISDN BRI days.

I don’t know very much about the technology behind WoW, nor about any of the costs involved. But after being involved in a business project that is trying to put 8 sites together over a WAN (and the thousands and thousands of dollars this will take in just bandwidth and connection fees), I can only wonder about the dime Blizzard has to drop every month just to run this infrastructure. They have servers all around the globe don’t they?

I played WoW a couple of years back and had a blast, but like most games got bored after three months or so. Sometimes I wish I could stay interested in one game for longer but I just don’t think I have it in me.

Any place that erects a statue honoring Stevie Ray Vaughan is ok in my book.

Does ASE work on Mac? Does ASE have an SDK that Dev's can use to integrate server browsing into the game? I'm certainly no developer, but I'm assuming there's a lot of behind the scenes schtuff that GameSpy did with their SDK.

I do agree that someone should step up though. I loved GameSpy many many moons ago, but I rarely visit their site anymore, nor do I use any of their products...which is too bad. The very first thing I purchased online was GameSpy 3D for Quake 2 server browsing.

Those were the days.

Pantera... Dec 9, 2004, 10:51

I've never been a huge fan of Pantera either, but I own their Cowboys from Hell album. Many of my music tastes are products of the long-haired rock bands of the 80's and 90's. Though I've gone away from that music, I've recently started to listen to it again. No metal-head I, but damn I used to love that music.

For some reason, this news struck me really hard this morning. Perhaps it's because the shooting is so senseless, perhaps because Dimebag was about my age. Images of Randy Rhodes and Stevie Ray Vaughan are swimming through my mind.

What a horrible tragedy for everyone.

As for remembering passwords.... I usually do. But I read something on the steam forums about people stealing accounts by guessing the passwords.... so, in my wisdom, I picked something really out there... Sadly, it was so out there I've never been able to recall it...

This is a nice segue for me. In a few months I have to switch ISPs. I have sooooo many accounts, and logons and other online type stuff using my old ISP's e-mail address that I'm starting to become a bit alarmed.

Like you, I tend to forget my passwords or usernames after a few months and love the "Forgotten your password? Click here" option.
