If Aliens can't protect their IT it ain't our problem

And here I thought Jeff Goldblum uploading a virus from a Mac to an alien mothership was complete horsephuckey! Silly me!

If there are aliens capable of listening to us rest assured they're hearing the equivalent of fart sounds coming from our general direction. If, seriously, our best minds are afraid that we're sending an Android/Java/SQL virus into the cosmos.. then we have far greater problems.

Kinda surprised to see that work area and test setup at Logitech. Based on how their headsets sound I was expecting to see an intern sitting in a janitor's closet.

NV is absolutely sublime. I really hope they follow that model closer than FO3. The build-a-base thing is a bit disappointing, but I guess they're catering to the player home and manga hair mod crowd.

Long history of communications problems for the visiting team at Gillette stadium.. And of course it's intermittent and during critical downs. Maybe it's all within the NFL rules, it's just astoundingly poor gamesmanship. Not really surprising at this point, the complicity of the NFL is what I don't understand.

ESPN
At Gillette Stadium, the scrambling and jamming of the opponents' coach-to-quarterback radio line -- "small s---" that many teams do, according to a former Pats assistant coach -- occurred so often that one team asked a league official to sit in the coaches' box during the game and wait for it to happen. Sure enough, on a key third down, the headset went out.

SI
But representatives from several teams told SI they have experienced problems with the coaches' equipment at Gilletteechoing a complaint from the Jaguars after their 2006 playoff loss there, when coach Jack Del Rio said his team's headsets "mysteriously malfunctioned" for most of the first half. In May, Browns linebacker Karlos Dansby told ProFootballTalk.com that his on-field headset stopped working when his Cardinals played the Patriots in 2008, and he does not think it was an accident: "They gonna do what they gotta do to win. It's just how they operate."

What I am trying to say is it just doesn't matter, it is meaningless.

A far more interesting question to me is why the footballs were handled this way at all. Each team providing footballs used only by their offense. It's crazy. It was begging for something like this to happen.

You just can't make this shit up.. It was a new rule in 2006 from Brady's lobbying for the rule change.

Rather unlike them to try to change a "rule" per say.. I guess the opposing teams were getting tired of the Pats sneaking into their locker room and swapping/deflating game balls. Who knows.

That's a well written article on Spygate, makes me lose even more respect for those cheating bastards; also makes their 2 Superbowl losses to the Eli Manning NY Giants that much more hilarious.

Roger Goodell destroying evidence for the Patriots, slapping rapists, wife beaters and murderers on the wrists, trying to sweep major crimes under the rug, it reminds me why I'm forced to boycott the NFL though. Not that my single man protest will do much against their multi-billion dollar empire, but it's the principle.

I'm pretty much done with it also. Maybe I will tune after Belicheat has been banned or Kraft indicted. Or maybe just wipe (stomp?) the records from the history books.

As long as I can remember in online games, circa 97-98 in my case, getting up in a cheater's grill is the best way to get them to leave a game. The hardest part is however is getting on the same team as the cheater.

Loved Prometheus? Can you go into a little more detail about which parts?

The geologist with mapping drones that get's lost inside of 10 minutes or maybe the zoologist trying to tickle the alien goo snake in the cobra strike pose?

I guess we're living in the Michael Bay era. Flash enough lights fast enough in front of people and you've got a box office hit on your hands!

I remember last month there was all sorts of consternation about Firefox taking an aggressive stance on Flash, I wonder what the reaction will be from Chrome users. Personally I have no use for Flash anymore and just wish a quick death but I recognize many people need it to play browser games or for marketing purposes.

In Firefox you just set Flash to "Ask to activate" in the Add-ons menu. Chrome is just making this the default setting. So you can still use it, it just doesn't load with each page as before.

Does anyone know how the .gov and contractors deal with PC operating systems? I can't imagine Windows 10 would ever be allowed on a Raytheon computer per say, but it would seem that MS would not want to lose those clients either.

Oh my, one look at this trailer and i'm already certain this game will be a great game and great success. It's like Civilization meets X-Rebirth (if that one hadn't failed).

This is FTL with better graphics though.. not even remotely Rebirth meets CIV

Hopefully not a Roque-like though.. but other than that, looks great.

Sales suspended, refunds... I can't remember the last time a launch was this bad. I'm kinda surprised it's coming in the form of Arkham Knight
There have been plenty, but rather than step up and do the right thing, they followed the "DENY anything is wrong" script. You've heard it before - "a few players are having issues", " problems with configurations outside the recommended specs" etc.

Steam offers refunds now.. that was the critical piece missing from past release disasters.

Regarding the use of the word afrikaans word Apartheid's use in video games. It's chasing controversy but I have no personal issue with it. I mean, the word is synonymous with segregation. It's practically a synonym at this point. Not in good taste perhaps but..

It's always been a general term as I understood it as well (including the dictonary entry as Desalus points out). There's a small country in the Middle-East that bends over backwards to control the usage of that word as well, and it certainly wouldn't be beyond them to produce some faux-outrage over it's usage.
