I'm sure there is more to it but it seems a little ridiculous that the Vive and Oculus require separate development to the point where games which support one or the other are locked down. It's not like it's a graphics card, processor or API but rather an external device which functions as a fancy monitor with bulky hardware requirements.

Shouldn't there be some kind of VR standard to follow instead of pushing VR in to the market in one hand while locking down and splitting the market in the other?

Do you really think Facebook would want anything to do with open standards? Walled garden or GTFO.

I still have to get back into the original. I got to the point where they added the "record yourself and play it back" mechanic, did a couple of the puzzles and kind of faded out playing it. Not too fond of that puzzle mechanic, but overall the game was enjoyable enough to drudge through one mechanic that I didn't like.

I searched Youtube for the last few solutions just so I could finish the game. The game was just not enjoyable towards the end.

I'm glad they decided to sell this game as a premium, instead of freemium. Makes me more likely to get it since premium usually infers less grinding annoyance and more quality and I get everything (a whole game) at once.

And no hoovie/conga line bullshit.

If you're overclocking but don't want to spend too much time on it, it is easier to search overclock.net for your MB + stable overclocks. I did this with my i7-920 and I hit 4GHz with relative ease. Just something like this in google should dig up some good info.

asus sabertooth z77 stable overclock site:overclock.net

Just to reinforce what others have said.. the voltages are key component everything else is built on with a good overclock.

<sigh> The writing is on the wall for my antique 780GTX. It handled Wolfenstein perfectly well, but it completely chokes on Doom (Confirmed by the TechSpot link). Looking forward to the 1080 release next week.

Chokes? play on medium and problem solved, still looks great, avg 47 on my 670GTX, game runs actually very well on older cards assuming you got an SSD with 50gb to spare which for this game is absolutely mandatory.

Isn't steady 144 fps or whatever, but it's playable and most importantly, stable fps...

It's the 1440 that kills it for me, even on medium settings. The best improvement I've had is by changing the resolution slider to 75%. It's playable, just muddy looking.

It's apparently intentionally quieter than most of them, and you will not hear it if you are not within a certain range of her.

You do see it on the replay though, so a team with good communication should be able to relay it pretty quickly.

Though since competitive was off during the open beta I'm not sure if kill cams are on during that too.

I'm pretty sure kill cams are on for competitive from what I've read.

Her hostile line is Personne n'échappe à mon regard. (friendly line: No one can hide from my sight)

I don't think I've ever heard her hostile ultimate line, which would make more sense based on Blue's comment.

Maining Zenyatta, Widowmaker is pretty much my nemesis. I've seen so many damn replays where she ignores my teammates and goes for me. Super frustrating but understandable. If she doesn't have her wallhacks on and I'm familiar with where she's at I can lay down some suppressing fire and get her to go away. But most of my team tend to ignore her way off in the distance like she is, they have more pressing concerns a few feet in front of them.

Her ultimate is far worse for me, but that's kinda the point of ultimates. I tended more toward flanking characters at the end, which really changes up the game in a lot of ways. Widowmaker isn't a problem when she doesn't see you coming.

"The only permitted hacks are those already built in, like seeing through walls."

I had 2-3 distinct moments toward the end of the Beta where I was sure someone was cheating.. only to be shown the replay where I was highlighted in red to everyone on the enemy team.

I really need to keep an ear out for Widowmaker's ultimate pop, and just hold back until it's finished.

Looking at Google's OS distribution numbers is a fun walk down memory lane, but it is also a damning indictment of the company's hardware partners.

That's pretty funny considering Google itself doesn't update it's own Nexus phones over 1.5 years old.

Android = Never again.

One of the issues is communication. Blizzard titles usually don't require voice comm for casual modes, but with Overwatch, it's very difficult to win without some attempt at coordination.

Level 10+ players understand the game better. They're picking characters to balance the team and they're working together in groups. For what it's worth.

I was hoping they'd tone the pacing down just a little but they seem determined to aim for the twitch/e-sport crowd and screw anyone too old for that stuff (i.e. 30+). As for the character balance, it's not there yet. I'm hoping they still tweak things a bit more before launch.

I'm 40+ and don't find it that bad. I just need to manage my engagement better, play the corners, etc.. There is also Winston and others with streaming weapons that don't require aiming well if you're having an issue with that.

Had a blast with this last night. The controls and movement are crisp, the engine is fast and optimized. It feels like a more mobile TF2, which puts it closer to Team Fortress or TFC in my opinion. Ultimates are an interesting twist. They are very focused on team synergy. The effect is vastly diminished if you're out by yourself.

There was a lot of steam rolling last night, which is expected I suppose. I hope the talent/experience pool grows a bit so that pub play is more balanced. Once your team is wiped it's very hard to get everyone together again for a point assault on a distant capture point.

I hopped into TF2 at the end of the night to compare the feel. Overwatch is a much smoother experience by far.

The amount of craziness surrounding your service in that area is mind boggling. I don't know of anyone that has as many connectivity issues across all levels of service as you! That would wear on me. Wasn't aware they were on strike....

When my wife and I lived N. of NY it was a bit bizarre with regards to infrastructure issues. We had far less power outages in rural PA, than in Westchester for example. I think it's a mix of a couple things.. really old infrastructure (that was designed for a much smaller population), and laws that prioritize trees and "Hudson valley beauty" over power line right of way.

So anytime a nor'easter type event rolled through we would have anywhere from 4 hours to 3-4 days with no power/telephone/etc..

These CGI videos Blizzard does are great. Why are they even bothering to make a TF2 ripoff... just go straight into making this a CG cartoon movie or series. I know I'd watch it.

Overwatch the game feels like well worn territory, not interested in playing it at all.

A lot of people within the TF2 community feel that Valve has let the game stagnate. Only recently, perhaps due to the pressure from Overwatch, they have started developing competitive more. Only time with tell if it is worth or not. The beta stuff seemed to be a mixed bag (team stacking, lost progress if someone abandons, etc.)

TF2 will always have F2P'ers, which should keep it alive for quite some time in certain circles.
