Fucking liberal elite cheap labor traitorous bastards. So not only can no one find a good job in this country anymore as it races to the bottom, Trudeau actually increased immigration quotas to 300k per year. Yet again we see the true colors of the elite Cons/Libs in Canada and all the fucking morons keep voting for them over an over again destroying their own way of life.

Record level low unemployment in Quebec now, and record level immigration on top of that. Something is going right.

And for what it's worth.. tech talent, or any talent for that matter, is not being paid "cheap" wages here. We are a part of a global pool, and are paid as such.

Lol, and here I was thinking an x-ray with a trained operator would be enough to spot a bomb inside a laptop. And the dogs. And the chemical sniffers/swab tests.

The recent intel was that the battery itself could be made explosive with a fairly simple mechanism, think Samsung Note7 with a laptop sized payload.

Whether it warranted an outright ban? That's the question.

DE: Mankind Divided Season Pass is a great price if you still have it installed. Get another hour or two in before not seeing the series again for another 10 years.

I used to do an acre with a motorized push mower every week and that was bad enough... Any more than that and you're going to want something you can sit on and drive around.

I did 1 acre for several years with a 20" reel mower, it was hateful on hot days, but otherwise worked well if I didn't let the grass get too high. The Fiskar reel mower is very nice, but it is also narrower I think, so its going to take a bit longer.

After a couple years a neighbor gave me their old Toro push mower. I installed a new carborator and blade and used it instead. It was much better suited to the yard size.

im getting a bit of a Duke Nukem vibe from it... its got an over-the-top action plus weirdo comedy thing going on... seems a bit different than the previous ones

I'm glad Machine Games is continuing with the franchise, as they did a great job reviving it with New Order and Old Blood, but yeah, I agree, hopefully they don't Duke it up too much.

For some odd reason I could not finish Old Blood, it was just a slog. New Order was amazing however. Hopefully it's more like that one.

I may reinstall just to drive with those double-trailers. Because it seems absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to reverse a rig like that...

I deal with quite a few trailers at Amazon, and I've yet to see someone try to back one up.

I've seen a few drivers have some marginal success with it, but typically it's a "line everything up right, then drive backwards very, very carefully, and reset about every 10 feet."

Home owners will be familiar with single pivot style trailers, where turning right results in the trailer going left. If you add a second pivot (farm wagons, double trailers) then turning right means the trailer turns right. In a dumb way it's actually easier. The main problem with double trailers are the blind spots.

We're using ipads at work but beyond that I'm kind of done with Apple devices. Android, for all it's faults, tends to release new OS drops that keep the user interface buttery smooth and rarely destroys performance the way iOS updates tend to.

It's been the opposite for us, but same story. Android's two years of updates is what killed it for us compared to Apple's five. We have a Galaxy Nexus, last update was Kitkat 4.4-ish in 2013, it's used with our US sim card when we are in the states (don't even dare to connect it to the web at this point). Our Ipad 2, same vintage, got it's last update last year and is still used daily around the house.

Surprised at the apathy toward this game. It's made by people who made Dishonored, Deus Ex, Dark Messiah, Arx Fatalis, and is continuing the Looking Glass design legacy. I'm expecting it to be good and really don't care what the title is.

Well said. I'm looking forward to it.

If you look at character acting you are certainly onto something. A lot of people can grow tired of character actors over time. How many Rambo/Rocky movies did we really need? Method acting is different, and a talented method actor should always be interesting to watch.

I'm not sure about the lasting effects on politics. I've always found social media to offer such a sanitized and low effort view of the world, compared to the nuance of a conversation over beers per say. Some people will only talk in memes and talking points, but these are usually the dullards of the group anyway.

The Global Village article is interesting. It lends scientific backbone to the old saying that familiarity breeds contempt (different context, but quite similar).

Blue, Keep a notebook of all discussions, requests, quotes, and payments made (listed by time/date). We are in the final stages of the same ordeal and it's amazing how unclear a simple punch list can end up being.

We had a dog that did this when we were moving once. It was only spritzes though, not full on peeing. I think some dogs don't react well to their entire world being boxed up and shifted around. After the move was complete everything was fine again.

It certainly didn't help the moving stress to be finding wet spots around the house as you're trying to clean up.

If you have a realtor lined up try asking them for a contractor recommendation. Most have a short list of contractors they work with for repairs like this.

I did more reading on it.. apparently P2 data privacy rules still apply. It seems the main thing it does is allow your ISP to be like Google/Facebook now. (which still sorta sucks because using Googlebook is a choice, chosing an ISP much less so)

What's that? Are you referring to the UK's Data Protection Act?

It was basically saying that the data is scrubed of personal info per law. So I assume you become client #123456, who likes peanut butter, NASCAR and watches porn videos at 7:42 each Satuday. (not really a big difference, and you can still be targeted, just not by name/address. For now.)

Here's more on PII.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Personally_identifiable_information
