My biggest gripe is that FDevs constantly take back seat, ppl just flown to the end of the galaxy to find nothing but dirt. There were no lore bread crumbs, no answers to any of the lore questions, bah, there was no participation from the devs at any levels whatsoever.

Hats off to the DW2 organizers, they did an amazing job making this journey happen.

They really need better in-game community planning.. they are trying right now somewhat but my god they suck at it.

They can't even design a satisfying reward loop outside of piloting.. you think they should try crafting community events? Honestly be happy they don't get involved more.

Let us know when Sandro has been fired, then it might be worth another look. Until then enjoy the RNG pretending to be a game.

Besides the price point I like that it uses significantly less electricity as well - we all need to be using less, and it's expensive in Ontario.

Really? It's super cheap just next door in Quebec and if I'm not mistaken, Ontario is also mostly on Hydro.

Have prices gone up that much since Hydro One's privatization decades ago?

Does privatization ever lower prices? Price map from Hydro Quebec's 2018 report.. http://news.hydroquebec.com/media/cache/ce/b1/ceb18534078ee4c66d734acf25e5129a.jpg

Google has some stuff.. http://rainydaymagazine.com/wp/2018/12/30/diy-herman-millers-aeron-chair-repair/

My wife and I have Steelcase Leap chairs, and the cylinder on mine has been a constant issue. Mostly because I fidget a lot and chairs don’t seem well designed for that. Should probably just replace it with a bean bag or something equally low tech.

I guess everyone has already moved on from 1080p right? Lol. I'm quite happy with my 1070ti still. It handles everything I throw at it and my i7 is going on 4 years old... I suppose 4K will truly cripple me but as long as I don't see what I'm missing, I don't need it.

1080p on a souped up 970. I'm happy. May build a new system in 2 years, with a new monitor. Till then, 1080p is great.

1440p is the sweet spot. The main benefit, aside the resolution increase, is that line aliasing is vastly reduced. Meaning you only need a touch of anti-aliasing, or can run with something like SMAA only. I wouldn't worry about 4k, it's still very niche for the PC market.

Impressive improvements, and pricing is certainly better. Sucks for those that bought the first gen. 20x0's however, like really sucks.

Apple devices are supported far longer than any Android phone. Kinda makes the price a wash.

We have $200 android phones that are 6 years old at work, and they still get updates.

When does this price wash thing start?

So you’re saying KitKat/Lollipop devices are currently getting OS updates? Burden of proof is on you my friend...

What I think you mean is that Apple devices are supported for two years at which point they slow iOS down to a crawl for all but the most recent phones. Planned obsolescence.

That was the complaint with ios 11, (so far) hasn't happened since. I'd still take a slower phone with security updates, than yet another abandoned Android product.

Last time we moved we ended up loading up a 26' truck and just parking it at a gated self-storage facility for a week until we could move in to the new place. It was a better option to pay a little extra for the truck than to load/unload twice. For what it's worth.

Edit: The greatest benefit is that allows you to schedule labor on your timeline. (We moved ourselves, but hired some guys on each end to help load/unload.)

Here's what I want, a decent non-snooping email along with a good browser for a fee. I'd think that would be a selling point. It does not need to be something that competes with Proton Mail. Just something that doesn't hoover your data while simultaneously serving up ads.
Current web-based email programs (yahoo/gmail) suck ass.

So basically Apple?

I think the title is misleading, should be Apple laughs at Nvidia's pathetic attempt at competition.

It's not really a middle finger to Apple since Apple made the active decision to stop making developer oriented laptops (4th gen MBP). Good for Nvidia, looking forward to how these pan out.

So the Ion protagonist is apparently named Shelly Harris...

Of all the names they could have used. S Harris.

For those who don't know (or still think the band isn't still relevant) Steve Harris has been the main guy in Maiden since the get go.

Yeah.. Iron Maiden has won infringement suits on less in the past.

Being critical of EGS has literally nothing to do with Steam. Valve has plenty of problems and has gotten away with a lot (first loot box developer, and by far it's largest purveyor). To give EGS's anti-consumer tactics a pass, just because Steam exists is non-nonsensical. I guess when you treat your politics like a sports team this is what happens. Ya'll need to get your heads screwed on straight.

It's hard to argue with publishers shunning Steam when it leads to crazy numbers like this.

They sold ten times as many copies of Division 2 on Uplay as they did Division 1. That's a lot of money left in their own pocket, and the PC was the only platform in the past year that (substantially) increased its share for Ubisoft.

God, who knows, maybe someday we'll get genuine PC versions again, instead of console po... hahahahahaha I can't even finish that sentence.

I think you missed the point that most of the sales originally came from Steam with D1. When they shunned Steam and went Exclusive to Epic and their own portal. Then its not hard to see the increased sales. Most shied away from Epic in favor of UBIs portal.

No, I didn't miss the point, that is LITERALLY the point. They sold TEN TIMES more on their own store when they shunned Steam. So that's ten times 30% money they keep in their own pocket.

Why wouldn't they do this?

Just because they sold 10x more on Uplay says nothing of the impact of the game not being offered on Steam. Being on Steam gives them volume that D2 has still yet to see for what it’s worth.
