Well, duh, no company wants to wire that. There's no ROI. If only there was some other kind of national agency that could provide service to the entire country...

It wasn't that bad either, they just had some significant issues they never got around to fixing. The economy, for example, was pretty poorly thought out.
It was nice, however, to have an mmo where skill was a significant part of it. And the semi-Newtonian physics was a nice touch.

On the very same day, the Hubble Space Telescope became viable after a restoration conducted by spacewalking astronauts on STS-61. I don't remember using Worldcraft, but I used DEUS or something. I remember config.sys, autoexec.bat, multi-configs, emm386.exe, qemm386.exe, Stacker, DOS4GW.exe (DOOM used it IIRC), conventional memory (ugh), etc.
