One thing that bugs me is, that i found a huge pile of Hl2 Boxes, 19.90EUR a pop, in my local electronics store last week.
Yes, thats the same version Valve still sells for 49.94Dollar via Steam.
The whole thing about 'cheaper games through cutting out the middle men' already was kinda fishy, when they introduced it for the exact same price on steam, but not following retail reductions is getting ridiculous.

The singgapore guy got arrested because he had porn on him.. ok Skylarov got arrested, because he made a piece of software that was legal in his homeland, and got arrested without him even trying to import it just because he went to the US.
Thats pretty much like if Europe would press illegal gun ownership charges against every american tourist owning a gun at home.
natural-selection.de is not THE official page, but a german community page.
As i read it, they just try to do the same thing as splashdamage, who developed Q3F, then founded their company and got to do enemy territory and Doom3 Multiplayer.
My personal guess is, that they started developing TF2 for Halflife, then released what they got as TFclassic to save the '2' for a stand alone retail game. Then they tried to build TF2 in a enhanced HL engine as standalone project, till they got the idea to merge engines with HL2.. and so were still waiting for it.
yer, for the technology, that eventually became the Q3A engine. I really liked Grey Matter's work on RTCW, so it's kinda Sad to see them lose a Project.
