how is releasing their next gen processor a year ahead of schedule and giving up on the 10nm prefab in the process equate to "sticking to their guns"?

lemme guess... its "alternative facts"

Jesus, kid, calm down. Are they paying you so much?

Here, just for you, the intel roadmap published in September 2016.

http://wccftech.com/intel-roadmap-kaby-lake-coffee-lake-cannonlake-leak/

Which part of it has been changed in 2017?

EDIT: Let us see what AMD's RyZen brings to the table. We need independent benchmarks (real facts, not Trumped facts). Then we will see if we will be offered a competitive new cpu generation or another Bulldozer.

no i think the takeaway is that they do consider them competition, which is why they are releasing 8th gen early, before they got the 10nm process completed and ready to go.. as it wasnt originally planned to be released until next year... but now they just want something/anything out there to compete against ryzen

We will talk again after the first official RyZen benchmarks have been released.

well it doesnt matter what we think about the benchmarks, the point is what INTEL THINKS about the benchmarks... or probably more importantly.. THE RETAIL PRICES

Yes, and by sticking to their guns it seems they are in no hurry and definitely don't panic about RyZen.

And, of course, the benchmarks will decide if they are right. If RyZen performs well and the prices are alright, AMD might step on intel's toes. But up to now, intel seems to be not very impressed. Either they know something we don't know or they are just good at poker.

However, we consumers will have to wait for real benchmarks. Can AMD walk the talk? We will find out.

that's a bit disappointing...

intel seems to be convinced that RyZen is no dangerous competition - so they stick to 14nm - for now! They are already planning a plant to produce 7nm cpus, though.

EDIT: They will produce 7nm cpus in Fab42 in Arizona. Mass production could start in 2020 or 2021.

I kid, I kid! Why would Valve want to release H-L3 for just the few owning VR hardware?

And so it begins ends.

And it died before we even got to know it. It died much quicker than its older brother 3D.

Both will come back. They always come back. Unless you destroy their brains.

Wait, I think I am mixing something up here...

1920x1080.

I hope the 1070 can also pull this off at 1440p later this year.

I know what tomorrow's Out of the blue is going to be. It will say:
Happy Groundhog Day! As I mentioned yesterday this has been a pretty mild winter here in the northeast, but that doesn't reduce hopes for an early spring, so lets turn to the weather rodents. As unlikely as it seems based on how overcast is was yesterday, apparently Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, leading to his prediction of six more weeks of winter. But even closer to the BlueTower is Staten Island Chuck, reputed to have an 80% success rate, and beloved for his feisty relationship with publicity-hungry mayors (Mayor de Blasio did not attend today after dropping Chuck in 2014 though it was later reported to be a female stand-in after this accidental public execution). Chuck (presuming the substitute groundhog story isn't a conspiracy) did not see his shadow, and called for an early spring. Reports that Chuck called Phil an untalented hack along the way remain unconfirmed. It's frustrating to get mixed results from such an exact science like shadow spotting, but there it is.

As long as he does not kidnap Punk's a Tony Phil and kills himself and the little punk in an accident, I am okay with him doing this joke again.

WB won't make another Batman game for PC so hold your horses. We fucked it up with our neverending whining about Arkham Knight. A game, btw, that ran perfectly fine considering its awesome graphics if only you just turned of those fucking Nvidia excluse features.

OR they could have released it in the state it had become after several patches where it would run perfectly fine WITH all those nvidia exclusive features turned ON.

Arkham Knight is a very good Batman game - NOW.

Is it truly Steam blocking regions or the publisher?

Certain publishers ask Steam to region block keys. Steam complies, so the EU is looking at Steam first but is also investigating the involved publishers.

This cross-market parallel trade complaint is a pile of shit. That's for physical goods.

Do you not know what "union" means, as in "European Union"? It's not CROSS-MARKET trading, the EU's goal is to function as a UNIFIED MARKET across member nations.

^^This is the goal of the European UNION: a unified market. The EU states are on the way.

Free trade - when big companies ask for it, they have to understand that it is free for all, or free for nobody. This is at least how it SHOULD be. No freebies for companies and people that already have more than enough money.
