I hate it how they state that violent video games influence gamers. If they don't stop this, I will climb on a high building and will start throwing barrels at them.

And yet, oddly, King was the one that broke the news, as he was excited about the casting, and then said "To me, the color of the gunslinger doesn't matter. What I care about is how fast he can draw...and that he takes care of the ka-tet," I'm going to go with him over you.

The same King who did not like Kubrick's version of the Shining and therefore worked on a pretty horrible "own" tv mini series adapation? The same King who directed Maximum Overdrive? I'm going to go with Stanley Kubrick, Frank Darabont, and Tobe Hooper over you and King, when it comes to movie adaptions.

IIRC, it did not happen in middle school, but on Hoth. Maybe you have seen another reedit by Lucas? Tongue

Pretty sure in both cases (ANH and Empire) she kissed him?

Yes, she did. And it was neither middle school, nor did he look disgusted. Instead he was jealous when Han said that maybe a pirate like him and a princess like her...

Did you get this angry when the Prince of Persia was white?

Yes, I did. I also hated the Gods of Egypt (horrible movie, by the way) being played by e.g. Coster-Waldau (Denmark) and Bryan Brown (Australia). It looked and felt so weird... Next we'll see a Shaka Zulu bio pic starring Paul Bettany as the Zulu chief. Or worse, Melissa McCarthy... Wall2

Offtopic: Idris Elba has the potential to be a GREAT Roland. Roland's never been done before anyway in live action, right? So what's the issue? The general impression from the books is a man so weathered and leathery it hardly matters what race he is. If your impression of Roland is from the comics, well, for shame.

What? King describes him as someone who looks like Eastwood, and do you remember the racial tensions between Odetta and him? It seems it is you who should read the books!

So, these are new characters they introduced? Then I don't see the problem. New characters can be gay, transgender, hetero - I don't care. What I really, REALLY hate, though, is if they change wellknown characters. Idris Elba is play Roland in the The Dark Tower adaption that is in preproduction right now. IDRIS ELBA IS ROLAND?! WTF?! Then there were rumors about Luke Skywalker being gay?! WHAT?! The guy who kissed a girl (his sister which he did not know back then - wicked George Lucas!) and enjoyed it a lot and obviously was very interested in her until he found out about her being his sister could be turned into a gay character now. For f***'s sake, introduce NEW characters that are gay and I'm alright with it, but this retconning is a pestilence. They don't honor the original material in Hollywood anymore because of what they think is politically correct and shoehorn their ideas into wellknown stories and characters. WRITE SOMETHING NEW AND ORIGINAL, and then you got every right to include a love affair between e.g. Poe Dameron and Finn, or Rey and Maz Kanata. But don't turn Gandalf into a former lover of Saruman, please. Thank you. Nerd rage set to [OFF].

Information is the new dope, the cocaine, the gold of this age. Either you get something for free and get spied on (Win10, Android OS, Apple OS, "free" and paid apps), or you pay hundreds of $$$ and get spied on (e.g. Spy Goggles). In the end - you get spied on.

Pssst, guys, it's Facebook. It's okay that they spy on your wanking activities, remember - they are NOT Microsoft, so it's okay to tell Google and Apple and all the app companies via your cell what you do, where you do it, and with whom you do, and it's alright that Fecesbook knows which porn you prefer and how long it took you to... well, "finish". As long as it is not Microsoft, it's alright. So move on, there is nothing to see here. Wait for the next Windows 10 thread and start your enraged rambling then with foam at your mouth.

Right now, I am experimenting with my 26" lcd. I want an alternative to Spy Goggle ((TM) Fecesbook) and have therefore glued my lcd to my head. It's a bit heavy, and I need better resolution. It's great for gaming, but somehow a problem in everyday life.

The Reddit drama going round at the moment is about the Oculus drivers leaving you with a resident process OVRServer_x64.exe which has a recurring trickle of data to Facebook's servers. As perhaps expected, the Oculus EULA has the usual block in it about data collection and marketing...

http://uploadvr.com/facebook-oculus-privacy/

That's okay for the guys here. As long as it's not Microsoft, they don't have a problem with it. Google, Apple, Facebook get a free pass to spy on people.

Pretty sure Star Citizen is a 4-year old April Fool's joke.

They're running a kickstarter to fund a new April Fool's joke right now. The joke should be finished approximately May, 2019. Date may shift, though.

Oh, they said they need 1,000,000 to fund it all by themselves without evil big joke industry. Already made $37,731,598 and have several stretch goals now, like a living, breathing universe of humor, the joke being performed by Melissa McCarthy and Adam Sandler, and so on. Looks like a fair kickstarter to me.

Hitler was a vegetarian, did you know that? Imagine what a cruel sadist he would have become if he had eaten MEAT! Wow!

But as Hitler said: in every veget-arian, there's obviously an arian.

Totally got me, Blue! Microsoft and Apple will make Blue's News a walled news garden, Microsoft will be critized for it, Apple of course not. Microsoft will make it a Win10 exclusive, too, and although in space noone hears you scream, you WILL hear the screams of Cutter even on the moon. The FBI will sue Apple for the source code of this site, Apple will say it's impossible to extract the source code, and 24 hours later an Israeli security company will tell the FBI that they can give them what they asked for.

I expected you to give us an Out of the Blue telling us that Blue's News is going to get a paywall for the full news articles and will also become an Apple app exclusive. Buy an iPhone, pay monthly for the app, and you will get Blue's News with a totally new overhauled layout. Lots of videos and so on.

Valve made $750 million last year. The math says 1.1 million isn't going to hurt them. For them it's like ordering a pizza, having it be delivered, and tipping the driver.

Hmmmmm... Piiiiizza! Can I have a slice of that $1.1m pizza?

It's a good win for cAUstomers. OZ and EU seem to be at least in a few cases strengthening the position of their citizens.

It will be the Moonraker of the Call of Duty franchise.

Yes. THAT horrible. Really.

Call of Duty: Retarded Warfare

Because in space noone hears you scream.

Scream... in anger because of the money you wasted on this game.

Just trolling, of course. I played and liked some of the call of duty games, especially the Black Ops 1 and 2 games.

Yes, VR is a game changer... for absolute niche products. It will make billions this way.

We'll see. Let's talk about it in a few years, shall we?

And the 3D I was talking about was of course not 3D hardware acceleration, as you definitely know.

Pictures of him wearing the helmet while the other people around him make fun of him?

Hm... 6 to 8 years, and the vr hype will be gone, just like 3d. Both have their merits, but it comes down to software/movies using the new technique cleverly instead of just doing a cheap conversion/programming job to sell each ticket/game license for a few $$$ more.
