Meh. I'm a Bernie-socialist entitled nut job and I can still respect this sort of thing.

But man I hate the confusing nameology of graphics cards, and this is not helping matters at ALL.

Bernie is Titan X compared to that overheating, power hungry orangutan with orange hair implants.

That said, I would never buy a Titan X.

I guess people in low income areas like a Chicago suburb can rejoice, they will get a deeper price. Right? Or is this just for foreigners?! Why?

So, the games that are available in Thailand are re-programmed by Thai programmers without using any code/knowledge of the product made in the US? Apples and oranges, jdreyer? Know the difference? Again: if the big money is allowed to have free trade agreements to avoid taxes, it MUST apply to regular citizens, too. It is not that hard to understand, is it? Laws that are only protecting those who are already drowning in money are a good sign of a democracy going down the drain.

That 1060 is pretty impressive, I have to admit. It is not a recommended upgrade for people owning a 970, but for people with smaller budgets it sure delivers some bang for the bucks.

21. Re: Military Coup in Turkey Jul 16, 2016, 16:11 El Pit

jdreyer wrote on Jul 16, 2016, 05:30:
I don't like Erdogan either (on the same day he bombs ISIS, he bombs the PKK? The Kurds are the only ones fighting ISIS to a standstill!), but is a coup really the way to go? Not sure things were THAT bad yet.

Also I'm not sure how much you'd like these guys running Turkey anyway, given how poorly they executed the coup. Jeez, coup rule #1, capture the president. Coup #2, get the fast jets on your side, so your choppers don't get shot out of the sky.

As far as a false flag operation goes it seems pretty unlikely, but I suppose it's possible. Whispers of a coup in Turkey have been circulating for months. Could be real, could be planted. Also, this coup seems to have been pretty bloodless so far. Lots of jets flying low over the city afterburners streaking, tanks rolling through town (followed by a hatchback, like people draft off of ambulances here in the states), empty buildings exploding. But no pitched battles in the street, like you'd expect. And stories of police arresting soldiers (!!!). The entire thing is surreal. But so was the Bolshevik revolution if you were living through that.

He has now completely taken over Turkey. He let go 3,000 prosecutors that he did not like (which was illegal - but he just does not care about laws and the constitution anymore, he thinks he is godlike), let militia and "special" police forces attack civilian unarmed protesters (but asked for protests to support him just the very last night) - yes, he is so dangerous that a coup d'etat was appropriate, although this one stalled early and seemed strangely bad planned. Of course the revolutionary forces should have put him under arrest as one of the first steps, so that left many people scratching their heads and even doubting that this was a real coup at all.

Erdogan is pretty much doing it exactly the way Hitler did it. Promise the conservatives and religious whatever they want to hear go get their votes, then blame everything you can not deliver on evil internal forces (kurdish people in this political "reboot" of Hitler's way to power) or enemies from the outside (kurdish people in other countries, Russians). Then just get rid of everything that limits your power (free press, illoyal prosecutors, judges, police commissioners, and so on), then try to spread your influence beyond your country. It has been done before, and because of appeasement politics Hitler was not stopped before he could start the second world war). But people (including politicians) do not learn from history, so we are facing it all again. Erdogan will need another 10 to 15 years, then things will get ugly and politicians will tell us that there has been no way to stop him before and that nobody did see this coming.

*facepalm* We need a shared games universe (like the shared movie universes of Marvel or DC): Dig Dug, Pacman, Frogger, Asteroids, Pitfall, team up to fight their joined enemy, the Old Gaming God - PONG!

Hollywood, call me. I will laugh about you and take your money. Not necessarily in that order.

The Turkish Situation

Any people of any Nation can be brainwashed to believe what the State tells them though.

I'm getting word on other sites, although these claims cannot be verified that people that have Turkish friends (that happen to not like Erdogan) are saying that he may have staged this in order to further consolidate power to make believe it was a so called attack on "Democracy." If true, Erdogan truly does like to imitate certain people of History. Meanwhile SkyNews Live had a Turkish lady on that absolutely believed it was an attack on "Democracy" even though Erdogan in the past has ordered raids on Media centers and arrested people for no other reason than making fun him.

Second point if you want to dig deep down the rabbit hole as I do into geo-politics is the leaked Erdogan tapes from around 2013/2014 in which he and his Inner Circle literally say in their own words that they could take advantage of the situation in Syria by making a False Flag Attack (similar to Hitler's Staged attack on a radio station as an excuse to invade Poland) by using the Turkish Military as pawns, attack their own territory, and claim an outside force did it instead in order to illegally invade Syria. If this thing is not an Erdogan plot, and the Turkish Military really are rebelling, this may be exactly what they are rebelling for, especially after many Generals were allegedly 'purged' to remain loyal to the primary party.

The coup has stalled. Dark times ahead in Turkey. Erdogan has already taken over the media and press over the last decade and has dismissed judges and prosecutors that were critical of him and his AKP party, now he will be able to install his loyal followers as new heads of the military. THAT is the real coup d'etat that happened over the last ten years. Erdogan is the new Kadhafi/Saddam Hussein. He is supported by the US, though, because of the US airbases in Turkey and because he is anti-Russian (although his own politics is a copy of Putin's politics just with islamistic tendencies added). Like always, it will take the western world a decade or two more to find out who they are really supporting.

Erdogan is NOT a reliable partner in the war in Syria, you are right. He is trying to increase his influence in his neighbour country and is working on his dream of a new Ottoman empire. As I wrote before: dark times ahead in eastern europe. This will not end well but in the next big war in europe.

Wow, who would have guessed? The Turk military is attempting a coup to overturn the goverment of Erdogan who himself has tried before to weaken the Turk military because he knew it is a danger to his attempt to turn Turkey into an islamistic fascist country. Turk military has taken over power before whenever it felt that democracy was in danger, and Erdogan has proven to be one huge narcissistic egomaniac who wanted to become a bit of a Fuhrer figure for Turkey. I cross my fingers and hope that the Turks are successful and drive Erdogan out of office and even the country.

EDIT: Hilarious. Erdogan forbade protests and is now asking his supporters and militia to protest on the streets. It is both ironic and annoying to see a dictator ask for protest in his support after brutally beating down protests against him.

High DPC - GeForce Forum

Wow. AMD and nvidia are really dropping the ball pretty much. So many flaws and mistakes - it is really incredible. AMD with its powersucking RX480 that needs to be underclocked, nvidia with GTX 3.5 + 0.5 GB 970 (and broken nvidia gameworks features e.g. in FarCry 4), now this...

We need a new player in the mid/high end graphics business.

Dude, almost every website writes that the RX480 is about on par with the 970 (NOT THE 1070!). But I know that in your eyes those are all paid nVidia shills, so I won't even bother to try and argue with you. Live in your own little AMD world and enjoy it!
