It's worse than free ships. For those who don't play this game, high-end items are built using BPOs (Blueprint Originals).

These blueprints are not just rare, they are strictly limited in number, and (in theory) randomly seeded in the game.
This makes them an important strategic resource. If you own the only five blueprints in existence for a particular ship, you can deny your opponents access to it.

One of the outed developers gave a number of valuable blueprints to his friends before being removed from the game. CCP has done nothing to reassure people that he received these extremely rare items in a legitimate way.
