Because Facebook and Valve both want to make their games exclusive for their mini lcd monitors

Valve/HTC haven't walled themselves off.. yet. I bought Chronos over on Oculus Home. It is the last game I buy there. It seems Oculus sits around all day coming up with wrong things to do. Going to be really interesting to see the sales on the next iteration of headsets. Oculus is pissing everyone off.

Anyone tried this and have some thoughts? What little I've read says the maps are very repetitive and small.

So how is that better than regular mouse control?

Much more immersive. Roomscale is pretty damn awesome. I have a tiny play space (about 6x6 feet), and the grid is almost always on, but it's still very immersive.

I think it looks fun. Kinda wonder about the driving part. He was thinking about having a steering wheel set up out of the room bounds so you could walk over and climb in the car.

With no flash deals anymore, the whole sale is meh. Check it out on day 1 and then don't bother coming back. Hell, ignore it on day 1 and come back on day 2 so you can use Steam without it crashing.

Stellaris looks like it might be interesting, anyone here given it a spin yet?

Yes. I'm at about hour 15 (I restarted at hour 6). It starts out easily enough, but the difficulty ramps up fast. I'm not necessarily talking about AI difficulty (that too), but there's things you do early in the game that can really fuck you up later. If you plan on playing, read up a bit first. There's a good thread going over on reddit where a lot of questions are answered.

I'm enjoying it. It reminds me of Sins of a Galactic Empire, which I also loved, only with a lot more complexity. I should be playing it now but there's some systems I want to figure out before I bugger up another game. Plus I've heard late game is full of bugs, so I may just wait for some patches to hit before I continue.

well...get ready for an effect that's difficult to comprehend at those speeds, and nauseating.

Wait, is this effect a terrible jitter that looks like my Vive is having a seizure? Had that happen after playing for an hour and went from absolutely fine to wanting to throw up in about 5 seconds.

25% off coupon over at GMG, bringing the cost to $30. If Doom wasn't launching in 2 days... ugg. Too many games.

Not sure what page you're referring to, but when I click on a users names it shows the Ignore This User switch.

Thanks for checking. I've seen the Ignore option before, but never on this computer. I tried it on a few different browsers also. It acts like the cookie isn't being set. I found it odd that the other settings pages worked fine but the Ignore User page didn't. I'll keep digging.

Any of you have any issues getting to the list of ignored users from the settings page? All the other options there work, but when I hit the Manage Ignored Users button, it asks me to login again. I have a few people I'd like to ignore, but can't ever get past the sign in. I can see my settings and change password and such. It's just that one page that doesn't want to remember who I am.

Like TF2, great when you just want to jump in and out of a quick match, or play for an evening. And since I'm old, I can play with real players vs. bots (like in HotS) and not worry about the competitive parts of it. They just need a few more levels of difficulty (medium is way too easy, hard is way too hard if you're not playing as a team). Lots of stuff to collect, too, which will keep me busy for a while.

Wait until Q2 ends Blizzard. Your numbers are going to be drastically lower; guaranteed.

Are you saying their numbers are going to go down despite launching their first new game in 17 years? Or they're going to go down because people will leave Overwatch and everything else? What happens in the next 2 months?

There certainly isn't any one software or game (although tiltbrush comes close if you are artistic) that's a reason d'etre to pick up vr - the vr has to sell itself or not.

Fantastic Contraption has been a lot of fun for me and my family. I have both a Rift and a Vive, and the Rift right now is collecting dust. This is partly because I played the DK2 quite a bit until I got the Vive (they showed up on the same day), but also there's just no comparison with Roomscale. Sitting in a chair with the Rift makes me sad that I can't be moving around and using my hands. I only wish I had a larger area (my play area is about 6' x 6'). I think Touch will change how I feel about the Rift (I hope), but for now I just want more games for Vive.

Someone needs to mod Skyrim to work with a teleportation box.

Bastion is still broken and incredibly OP in the hands of someone who knows how to (ab)use him. I am getting really, really tired of watching "Play of the Game" clips at the end of matches that nearly always involve a Bastion if there was someone playing him in the game.

I play Bastion when I get frustrated with other chars, precisely because of this. He's EZ mode if you're defending (which I guess is his point). Last night was rather frustrating though since there were so many new players. Gonna be hell this weekend. Hard to play anyway knowing everything is going to be reset, too.

I used to say Windows 10 was fine. Then I got a "rate this" on my calculator. Fuck that. I'd move back to Win 7 if I could easily do it.

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but wasn't B&W a buggy mess? I remember pets vanishing due to some bug. And the RTS side of it wasn't particularly good. Plus there were only 6 or 7 maps, one of which had no creature because he was kidnapped? I remember enjoying the game when it worked right, but being frustrated with it as well.

The controls were very responsive and made it actually easy to manage even on keyboard.

This is actually how I beat the water part. I found out the Steam controller was moving at warp speed when trying to aim. I haven't returned, though, do to all my misdirected anger. Wish I had more time.

Game needs a "I'm old and slow" option. I was enjoying it until I had to start doing the boost bits while being chased by water. That was rage time. Looked pretty though.
