has always been about the gluttony of modern consumerism

A cognitive bias refers to a systematic pattern of deviation from norm or rationality in judgment, whereby inferences about other people and situations may be drawn in an illogical fashion. Individuals create their own "subjective social reality" from their perception of the input.

Zuckerberg can go Fuckerberg himself.

I'd have worded that slightly differently, but either way it gets the point across.
I guess he's not happy with with the amount of data he has on people already, it's time to start controlling peoples offline habits a bit too.

Yeah nah, I'm good.

This thread needs more talking about RimWorld.

Alpha 15 just out, so it's a great time to get into it. Not only can you harvest skin and organs from your enemy, but you can get your own guys addicted to a whole bunch of new drugs too!

There are some good mods out already, although most will need to be updated for the new version. So there is plenty of replayability.
Unlike another game selling for $60, where each new planet is the same replaying of the last one.

I've had this game for quite some time now. I'd say it is one of the best games to capture some of the brilliance of Dwarf Fortress in a way that just can't be done by most games.

The modding community is pretty solid, with some great mods to further enhance the game. Add to that, some reasonable youtubers doing lets plays and such, which can really help when you're new.

Two thumbs up from me, and I'm glad the game will get a lot more exposure now.

Great!! Now we've got politics shitting up the gaming community.

Why couldn't they choose youtube-red instead? Or perhaps redtube, since the government generally wants to just fuck the populace anyway.

News Comments > Valve on Game Item Gambling
8. Re: Better cash out those skins. Jul 13, 2016, 21:07 Grokk

I really don't get all the hate on Valve for this.

They provide a service.
It was the third party sites abusing that service and going against the generic terms of that service to which all of this has occurred.

It's kind of like blaming a car manufacturer because you saw someone run a red light in a car made by said company.
Next thing you'll see is car manufacturers being forced to cancel the sale contract and revoke your car because you got busted speeding.

8. Re: Steam Customer Review Changes May 3, 2016, 22:33 Grokk

I was jut looking at reviews for a game a day or so back and they were all mostly about how bad launch and such had been. Took ages to find some current reviews that seemed somewhat unbiased.

I look forward to these changes in a hope that they do start to express what the game state is currently rather than how shit it might have been 12 months ago.

Umm, no shit you should have included it.

Those animation sequences look great, but what is that going to do to the speed of a multiplayer game?
Like, are you invulnerable for 3 seconds when you ram a chainsaw into someones back?

Awesome, I can't wait to see what some indie devs come up with.

Given that UE has had a similar model for years, you'd think that any indie devs would be on that already. For example, see Angels Fall First or Renegade X.

There is a price point where the percentage the epic takes from the UE royalties becomes quite extreme. Unity has a fairly decent percentage rate, though the Cryengine from what I've read is royalty free, making it the cheapest somewhat current generation engine for making games.

I thought postal was an FPS, or was that just postal 2?

Either way, this just looks like a gimmicky mobile game at best.

I think mobile/handheld would be a giant waste of everyones time and money. (Much like twitter)

Put me down for a "Yes!", on the condition that the game is made for PC first, and ported to console later.

I really think there could be a great game, mixing up some base building type functionality and progressed with missions and map control.

"AMD and The Associated Press Collaborate To Enable Next-Generation Virtual Reality Journalism"

Isn't most "journalism" nowadays only virtually real anyway?
Maybe they're referring to bringing clickbait to the XBone?!

PS: I didn't read the article.
Edit: Missed word.
