...asked pupils in Grades 4 and 5 about their use of media and exposure and attitude toward real-life violence, and then took a measure of their empathy.

Good thing they have their empathy meters. I wonder where they stick something like that...

I've never had a problem using nocd.exe's but I can't recall if I've ever used them on PB servers. It won't hurt to try though, you'll find out soon enough.

Won't hurt to try? If you find out soon enough that you are banned from all PB servers, I'd call that a risky thing to try...

"Winter 2004"

Lets hope that's an Atari fuck-up

Le us hope instead that they meant the end part of winter before spring in 2004!

Oh, didn't realize ther was an English only option, thanks!

Actually why would I expect that? Not many of us Canadians talk like that in reality.

Has anyone noticed that the Canadian army doesn't seem to have new distinct voices as implied by the patch notes...

rnp.ca's server used to be great, full of smart mature players (no FF helped)\

I find FF is actually better for games. If FF is on, its easy for everyone to identify teamkillers and kick them, but if its off, I've noticed that some lamers can sabotage teh game without anyone noticing. The other day I was on a no FF server and some idiot kept running over my defensive mines, just to be an ass. Since no one else saw him but me, and teh mines were harmless to him, it didn't end.

Well how much on foot combat would be watered down? Think of any movie of this genre, they don't break out submachine guns and bazookas and have shootouts all the time, just a couple of gunfughts to escape from, etc. Much of the time is spent developing story, 'making deals', running around town, etc. Theres never as much shooting as would appear...

This game should rock, I really enjoyed teh first one, the driving physics are excellent. I didn't play the second (consoles suck). Glad this will be on PC.

That counterstrike movie was not bad, but it wasn't very much like a 'real' game of CS, I mean no one was jumping around like an idiot when they were exchanging fire close range...

"lets just say its not a family site and does exactly what it says on the tin."

Its not exactly a family game either. I would guess the site actaully has the same rating as the game does...

Oh yeah, like the girls of Perfect 10 are 'real' female anatomy...

How come everyone keeps pointing out that 60Hz on their monitor gives them headaches? WHat does that have to do with a 60Hz tic rate or 60FPS? Absolutely nothing. You think that if the game only runs at 60fps you'll nd up getting a headache from it? Or even notice much at all different?

Yes, The human brain can detect a refresh rate of greater than 60 Hz, but even if the game ran at 20fps, you still wouldn't get monitor flicker if it was set to 75Hz, They are completely and utterly unrelated. Do you get headaches, or flicker from watching a movie at the theatre? Thats only 24fps... (movie theatres don't have refresh rates the same way a monitor does, so no, no flicker or headaches.) 60 FPS is MORE than enough for human vision to detect smooth movement. And i mean butter smooth, even 30 is smooth as far as visual movement goes.

Odd. Usually you see some reviews popping up before the game hits shelves, but I can't seem to find any for Max Payne 2.

And what's really weird is the game hasn't been warezed yet.

Makes you think doesn't it...

Has anyone else experienced sound issues with this game? I've tried both the demo and the retail version now, and even with the newest drivers for both my cards (SoundBlaster Live, and my onboard Realtek AC97) the dialog doesn't work half the time. So much for trying to follow the storyline.

Only support I've seen on this is, "you have to use the newest drive for soundblaster live".

BTW, before all the smart ass comments, I know this isn't tech support...
