Gabe should do one of those Apple switch commercials. I can see it now:

"My company and I lost a hell of a lot of money cause of Windows. No wait, it was our own stupidity..."

I think it could be an instant classic...

I loved the post about the hacker and the brick throwing. Truer words have not been spoken in a while.

So until Apple comes out with an iBox... I'll keep using my PC for games only and have all my important stuff on my Apple. Least people don't try to hack it. The Xbox version of HALO was a hell of a lot better than the crap one we got by the way.

And if the code was so important, why not have the stations that had access to it cut off from the internet? Just a small network within valve with no outside connection. Problem with that?

The XBOX version looks better and actually works. Microsoft probably dicked this copy up on purpose. The Mac version will probably be even worse...

And the really weird part, after you get used the gamepad, the mouse keyboard feels WORSE.

Has anybody had a lockup problem during the loading part of Elite Force 2? It gets to "loading media", and then the music just stops.

The engine probably had to be scaled down for the XBOX.

Gore wasn't much better, and we'd probably still begging the U.N. to let us do something about 9/11 had he been elected. And Lieberman? Please! We all as gamers whould hate that man with a passion. But I say rock on to the guy who talked about talking with our vote. That's the way this country works, and it's beautiful. Now if they'd only limit congressional terms like they do the Presidency...

Screens (the three of them I could look at, damn pay to view sites) looked really good, specially on a 3 year old engine. I hope this game is fun, and I hope the demo is a demo and not a "trial" like Freelancer. Damn Microsoft...

Cool game, horrbile demo idea. Clocking usage? Limiting you? Am I going to have to re-install to fix this? Is there a certain money ammount that it quits after you get? My Radeon 9700 wasn't a "recognised" video card. Is this due to ignorance, or Microsoft's sleeping with Nvidia? Game ran great, except for in the menus, it was slow as a sloth...

Other than that, looks great and play is fun.

"We've worked with the good folks at Microsoft to give FilePlanet Subscribers the first taste of Freelancer, but now the file is available to all members of FilePlanet. The demo of this action-packed, Sci-Fi masterpiece contains the entire first system of the game: The Liberty System of Manhattan. It includes more than a dozen bases, five ships, and great taste of the open-ended nature of Freelancer.

Important Note: This demo is available to all FilePlanet members. You will receive an activation key for the demo during the installation. You will need this key to unlock the demo. The key is good for a single user on a single PC."

That's strait off the site this morning. Downloading now...

Ah, Dantastic, your system specs and you saying how much you enjoyed JK brought back memories. JK needed a 133 mgz box, I upgraded from my 486 for that game. Here's hoping for an old school star wars shooter (like, "classic" trilogy) with better multiplayer and the people who played the parts doing the voiceovers. I mean, c'mon, what can Mark Hammil be doing these days? And I would be all over Dark Forces 4, Lando's revenge, where you take Lando and pay back the Empire for screwing Cloud City (prior to Return of the Jedi).

The mouse thing just makes it more appealing to a wider audience. Not everyone has a joystick. These guys did Wing Commander and Starlancer, I trust they know what they're doing with the controls. And a 3D flying game will be a bit different then controlling your Barbarian in Diablo. So until Freespace 3 comes out (please god, someone make it)this game is it, like the mouse thing or not.

Peter Moore was pretty cool. If memory serves, he had been the man over at SOA for a while. Ever since Genesis maybe? Dreamcast was the only console I had ever bought, (other than Game Gear and Nomad, if those count)and I miss the sports games terribly. I guess the marketing jugernaut of EA crusehd SEGA Sports this year. Madden does have a better play selector menu... It's kind of depressing to see a Japanese suit take over for Moore. I could be dead wrong, Kayama could be from San Franciso or anywhere, but if SEGA wants to continue having a market share in the US, they need an American to run the division. An American would understand the market and buyers better. A key example is what happned to Ford under Australian leadership. Not that Nasser didn't know what he was doing, but he didn't know the market and buyers as well as he should have. I got real off topic in this post. Sorry. Here's to hoping SEGA starts porting (or better yet, designing) games to PC,

Mine got resized to maximum resolution... Weird. Anyone else get a full blue screen error after your Directx9 installation locked up? Hope that wasnt serious... How do I check to see if DX9 was installed? Is there a utility I can run that tells me what version I have?

Looks pretty cool. The story does look like it's been ripped out of oh so many sci-fi movies, but the story is just a plus. If I want an awesome story, I'll catch a flick or grab a book. If I want to have a fun experiance on my computer, I'll grab a game. If a game has a cool story and its done right (Half-Life, System Shock 2) it's an added bonus. But I don't think we should have to fork out an additional $40 for a UT2 as well. But thats why this capitalism is so great. We buy what we want, when we want, so if it pisses you off to shell out $80 for a game (as it does me) don't but them both. Get the one that matters to you more. Here's hoping that someone can develop a multi-player mod soon after release so we can have the best of both worlds...

Once again, I'm sorry to use Blue's News as a tech support forum, but I need some help. My 18 inch flat panel digital monitor has a red pixel. This pixel is always off color, and most of the time is red. The maker said this is normal and that all LCD monitors have 1-3 dots of off color. Is this true?
