Ehhhh...the first 2/3 of Sunshine was good. The last third went off the rails in my opinion.

28 Weeks Later was about 60% as good as 28 Days Later. It just didn't all quite gel. I'm hoping that with both Boyle and Alex Garland writing the script that it will be as good as the first. Guess I'll just have to wait and see once it hits streaming. Though I'm absolutely not getting excited. Anything I get excited about generally turns out to be shit. See Prometheus and Homeworld 3 as examples.

Prometheus was quite the disappointment. I’ve heard that the extended edition was better, and I still don’t see how a turd can be more than just a turd.

Real fans would find a way to snag this, even if it was already in their library!

Thank you for pointing this out!

You are very welcome! I want to keep the snagging going for all!

At some point, I am getting Selaco. It hasn’t quite hit the price I want and it’s still in early access, so waiting is fine.

As a computer scientist, I am not sure that I see this as a good thing. I am waiting for the day when one of the AI code generation tools has been hacked and nefarious code is injected into everyone's projects while they're being created.

As an educator of computer science, AI has made my job incredibly challenging. I need to teach students fundamentals, so that they can understand code. The students want the quickest way to an A grade (or whatever grade they're happy with), which often means shortcuts like AI, so they learn very little.

Snagged, snagged, snagged again!

Already had Limbo, and have played through it a while ago.

Wonderlands is decent enough fun. Sure, it wasn't as good as Assault on Dragon Keep, and it was also still fun enough for me to finish. There is a big redux mod for it that I would like to try someday.

There're millions better ways of spending money on than a french developer on a derivative, bizarre, run of the mill RPG.

Yet that is the shit world we live in.

That's terrific you don't think it's cool. You might find your time better spent with all the other people who agree with you, doing something else.

Yup yup, thanks a lot, just like the time I spend to (freely?) voice my opinion here, on how sad I find that junk sells millions.

Why do you find Clair Obscur to be "junk"?

Also, I am not sure why it was important to mention that Sandfall Interactive is a French developer.

Sure, the game is derivative in parts. Most games are. I do not see it as a 100% clone of another game.

I like the bizarre aspects to the game. This adds a lot of mystery that I wanted to uncover too.

I did not see CO:E33 as run-of-the-mill.

Blue, you have a typo here:

Since launching almost exactly one year ago word is the game has sold a title-appropriate 3.3 million copies:

It launched about a "month" ago, not a year ago.

I finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 last night. What an amazing game! The story, atmosphere, voice work, and music are all excellent. I really enjoyed the Pictos and Luminas systems for learning new abilities. The save system is just about perfect as well. There is still a lot of optional endgame content that I can go through at some point too.

Is it perfect? No. I found that I never really felt competent with the combat, mostly with the dodging. I also never knew what abilities to select, so I tended to just stay with what I was already using for most of the game, leaving the highest level abilities alone. I also don't think that it is possible to pause during a battle, which was highly annoying when I did need to pause.

Clair Obscur being a $40-$50 game makes the big publishers raising prices look rather bad, since they aren't releasing things this good.

Reason #53 for why I don't own a console.

What are the other 52 reasons?

I have the three current ones, and the shine has tarnished. I got back into using them because I switched to using Macs, which are not that great for gaming. I eventually got a Steam Deck OLED and I barely touch my consoles anymore. Now I am thinking about building a new gaming desktop (really bad timing), running Linux.

What is the first target of Operation Attend a Movie? I hope that it is a success!

The last movie that I saw in a theater was Flow. It was definitely worth seeing on the big screen. I already have my 4K copy ordered and I am looking forward to watching it again soon.

The first four minutes of Passengers are incredible—not a single word is spoken. The film conveys everything through CG, set design, and music. It's pure visual storytelling, and it sets the tone perfectly. I wish more films took that approach. Actually I wish films did that for its entire run-time. Flow was one that pulled it off beautifully.

Wall-E did this very well too. I actually prefer that part of the film.
