I mean, you can be both. Just because you are nice and invested in your product doesn’t mean that what you produce is going to vibe with the gaming zeitgeist.

I agree. Just because I can be super passionate about feces modelling doesn't mean I won't end up with a pile of shit by the end of it all.

Sounds like a new business model.

I can already see it. They will start making the most eye-bleeding, oversaturated, neon colored skins and add another microtransaction which allows you to turn that specific skin off in your matches. It won't even be "pay 20$ for the purist upgrade which allows you to turn off all cosmetics", it'll be "pay 20$ to turn this specific skin off".

When I see 'procedurally generated content' being boasted by a game, that is a minus.

Viva La Dirt League's take on procedurally generated game content sums it up pretty well:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=5C3mvRm0aOY&si=AR7ILQW4NQKo1O1E

VLDL rocks.

I don't mind procedual generation. It allows smaller dev studios to make bigger games. Of course, the game has to have procedual generation as a feature that it builds around, not the main focus of the game itself.

What planet are you living on? And can I come visit?

Seriously. The past 10 years proves this horribly untrue. Flat earth and anti vaccine have not only grown, but the latter is now running out national health system. People aren't finding out what's true, they're finding out what makes them happier to believe.

I'm afraid that I have to agree. At the risk of sounding like a self-absorbed authoritarian asshole, it is very clear that a LOT of people are simply not to be trusted in matters of rational thinking and self-governace. The amount of people who take everything at face value, trust anything they have been told and never bother to do 10 minutes of research is saddening.

Do not let people fully rule themselves, ever.

I may buy this to support them, I lvoe what they do in general, but that looks a bit boring actually. I was kinda hoping for a parody RPG of sorts.

I suppose they might not have the budget for such an undertaking. Either that, or it made sense to them to expand this IP into games without making it a big part of their image.

Or maybe not, who knows. Maybe it'll be better than expected once they release more gameplay focused trailers.

Looking forward to the excellent gameplay of this game. Does anyone know what you fight? I tried watching youtube videos but still can't tell....

You don't buy this for the gameplay. Every cent you spend goes straight to fighting the woke mob and their agenda of putting ugly women with realistic body proportions in games! You don't have to play the game. Just buy it and forget about it.

That's a pretty hot take.

I did a manual slim install of these drivers as always but once they get serious and make their fucking app a requirement, I hope there will still be a workaround to simply install the drivers only, without all the bloat. I don't need GFE and I most definitely do not need a fucking reee.... reeeeeeettt... [*redacted*] app with telemetry spyware and bloatshit crapware out the wazoo...

Hopefully, they will not be able to completely force an extra App onto everyone. Maybe the "Game ready" driver will, but the studio and/or enterprise will always have a split option. At least I think...hope. If not, I'm almost 100% sure there will be a tool which just extracts the driver part from the installation .exe archive if Nvidia somehow removes that (since currently you still extract into a folder first from where you can get your driver manually).

My car already has a HUD projected onto the windshield (Yaris 2024) and it's pretty neat, dont need AR glasses. Plus, I'm wearing dioptric glasses, wonder how that would work.

To my knowledge, VR or AR glasses/headsets do not generally provide a dioptric (although a quick search on Google suggests there are some specialized offers, but not from mainstream VR/AR manufacturers) adjustments for near/farsightedness or things like astigmatism.

I would have to start wearing contact lenses instead, which sucks ass. Glasses all the way. Tech is not there yet.

If I understand the article correctly, he does not actually explain crap about how to counter rising development costs.

He just says "Sink as much money into it as necessary, until the product is polished just enough for that Nintendo™ magic."

I dunno, Nintendo's mainline games are just not my cup of tea. I'm obviously not the target audience for what is essentially a simple platformer.

Sadly, it seems that they are now bought.

They should have made your characters abilities scale with your weight loss.

You know what? That would probably be a much better idea. A weight scale that has characters from popular franchises that would scale up or down in body size as you get more fit (or buff, hopefully not fat).

I would probably buy it. I love progress reports from health apps.

Sad reality of things is that you're probably right. I imagine a good number of people would be somewhat placated (sans the more resistant players, of course).

I personally don't give much of a crap about these requirements as I already have a PSN account anyways. Everyone else is free to vote with their wallet.

"Strix Point"?

I guess the only reason ASUS is not suing AMD for trademark infringement is because it's a codename, rather than main product name.

1. Google has heard of ad blockers and is actively fighting them. 2. Ad blockers don't work on Android or iOS. 3. A portion of the YouTube Premium fee goes to support the channels you watch on YouTube. Some of those people deserve the $$$. 4. YouTube costs money to operate, so it needs to make money to stay in operation. What is your proposal to create a YouTube replacement that is free for everyone, forever, with no ads?

You have a good point with 3. & 4., but 1. & 2. deserve a bit of clarification:

1.) Google has heard of them, but is failing to effectively fight them on any other platform other than Google Chrome (also, a very, very large majority of internet users do NOT use ad block due to their limited knowledge)
2.) Ad blockers absolutely work on Android - I myself am using Brave and my wife is using Firefox, both have very well working ad blockers (I don't have iOS so can't comment there)

I would also add a personal opinion on point 4: Our data is the product, YouTube has operated on this premise for a good number of years. The subscription model is just a logical evolution of any service these days (with pure profit in mind). I also believe the only reason they can charge this much is because they're a video hosting monopoly. Yes, there are other video hosting services, but they're either not as good, not as known or generally considered not as "safe".

I remember the first patch broke save game compatibility. I didn't want to start over, so I didn't patch and kept playing. I don't remember exactly why but was unable to finish. I didn't feel like starting over.

God, I remember those times so well. Each patch breaking saves and yet, I was completely immersed in the setting and didn't give a crap. All the mods as well! The mods that turned STALKER into such a high-stake scary game. I vividly remember frantically searching for a shelter during one of the many Blowout sequences enhanced by a specific mod. The Namalsk map in old DayZ Arma days added blowouts and it made the map sooo good.

I can't wait for STALKER 2.
