I noped out of Destiny many moons ago (before the second one was even a twinkle in someone's powerpoint presentation), but I often wonder if this magical vault is essentially just an intern opening up a folder, double checking its contents (hah! jk), hitting control + a, then the delete button.

It honestly feels like the writer knows they can get away with BS zero-researched arguments like "poor performance and optimization" because that's just "the norm" these days, and I also think most readers give that phrase a pass because of the infinite amount of hardware configurations that exist ("well, maybe the reviewer had a problem, but it works ok for me").

I was in the room. Close guess, but neither took place. They had a long meeting with him, where they explained that they had made an ubergruppenshot. This “maxxeen” would give him control over all others that took the autism shot. They convinced him of this by showing him the computer chip that would be inserted with the maxxeen injection. He was still a bit skeptical, but they told him that the chip also had “brain worm countermeasures” and would give any noodle parasites a really bad headache.
The chip looked like a few legos put together with one of those cheap cpu decals stuck on top, but what do I know? I’m no maxxeen scientist.

I think what they meant was: they had an ubistooge flip the breaker for the dev room, forcing everyone’s computer to reboot. While the computers were rebooting, they fired the dev team.
Thank you for linking the video! I had not heard of the game, and it does look very fancy from (at least some of) that video.
But after watching the video, the cringe was strong for me in this one, coupled with some of the worst voice acting I’ve ever heard, and the three game modes listed are PvP (x2) and PvPvE. Not for me at all. Also gacha/loot crates.

Exactly my feelings and this is why I do not buy Capcom (and many other companies’ games). If it goes on sale much later down the line and denuvo gets removed, then great! If not, I have so many great games to play that do not have this BS attached.
I added HoT, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, and Brotato to my account on the same day. To my utter surprise, HoT was my favorite of the three (I thought it would be in last place).
It’s a fantastic game in the Vampire Survivors mold, with delightfully retro “devolved” Diablo graphics. The challenges can be difficult and I’ll admit to having to resort to a guide or two to figure some of them out, but I’m super excited to jump back in and finish those next 190 cheevos!
