I don't think most of the people who actually play video games, pay much attention to these activists who masquerade as journalists. Just look at Kotaku as a prime example of this. An activist website with no real gaming content to speak of and now it's going under.

It's interesting to me that the article didn't mention that an employee of this company tried to harass and 'cancel' the curator that is running the curator page for games that involved this DEI company. Of course the guy (DEI company employee) got his account on X suspended for harassment.

Anyways, articles by the Guardian or Kotaku really shouldn't be taken seriously. It's like watching Fox news and thinking you're getting accurate information. Far Left and Far Right news outlets don't have much credibility in my book.

I have two Intel i9-13900KS systems that were having this same exact issue with a lot of applications and games crashing and regular BSODs. I had to declock the CPU's two 6 GHz performance cores down to 5.4 GHz in order for the systems to become stable. Both are the KS special edition CPUs that are supposed to have been binned to clock up to 6 GHz by default.

I'm not sure if the issue is the BIOS or the CPU or something related to Windows but both systems started to exhibit the same problem roughly at the same time.

"5th Circuit Court of Appeals" That's all you need to know. The 5th is a GOP-controlled radical cabal of right wing judges that regularly rule in favor of GOP ideals over precedent and facts.

So you mean they believe in freedoms that are enshrined in the US constitution and uphold those freedoms? They seem to be doing excellent work.

Good. Censoring political speech is not something any social media company should be in the business of. They need to get out of the way and allow people to make up their own minds about what is true or false.

Yep, I'm going to watch this upcoming season that has Henry Cavill in it and then I'm done. Henry is a well known fan of the Witcher books and games and with him gone, there is no way the Hollywood types won't ruin the series as they have done with so many others.

No offence to Ukraine, but they don't get to pick what game I want to spend my money on. They can politely go fudge themselves. I'm glad Steam doesn't remove games because some special interest groups starts whining.

I guess 2023 is going to be the year of Hogwarts Legacy just as 2022 was the year of Elden Ring. I wonder if this presents any kind of dilemma for the Game Awards to hand out all those trophies in light of J.K. Rowling's comments.

Nothing I've seen would indicate that Hogwarts Legacy is GOTY material, not even close. I haven't played myself but the consensus seems to be that it's a pretty good game based on an immensely popular franchise, which I don't think will be enough to sweep awards.

Yeah, the Wired review (rated 1 out of 10) pretty much sums up everything wrong with this game and why it would never get GOTY.

I wouldn't call what Wired wrote a 'review', I think you're being awfully generous there. It was more of a rant. They're obviously free to rant all they want, after all freedom of speech is important. But most people are also likely to ignore the rant and buy the game, which is what seems to be happening.

Long time reader, first time poster. I've watched the Harry Potter movies but I can't say that I'm any kind of a super fan.

If the controversy wasn't there, it probably wouldn't have showed up on my radar and now that I've been told by a bunch of people that it in fact is a good game, I may actually buy it.

No one is going to convince the other side that their side is right on the trans debate (Highly unlikely anyways). It's too bad that some people cant separate the art from the artist and appreciate the art for what it is. It's their loss I guess.
