His post was in no way controversial and is the sentiment of a lot of gamers, which is why games that reject wokification tend to do well financially. Companies that choose not to engage in woke identity culture have my full support.
"It's not controversial if I agree with it."
I don't think his comments are a particularly big deal, but this is perhaps the worst, most narcissistic take on it. I'd ask for a source on that claim about what games do well financially but unironically saying "woke identity culture" gives me zero faith in your ability to comprehend data. Let me guess, you think Gillette lost $8B?
The data is fairly clear. If you believe that woke culture has had a positive impact in our overall social discourse then, I have a bridge to sell you. I'm an old school liberal. I think we should stop dividing people based on 'identities' and start treating people as individuals. Woke culture has brought nothing but destruction and tribalism. You are free to support it and I am free to oppose it.
I don't support it because it's not a real thing. It's a bogeyman used to sow destruction and tribalism.
You may not think it's a real thing and that's certainly fair, but then why put energy into this whole thing by commenting on it here?
There are a lot of people however who think it is very real and it is a problem that needs to be dealt with, and they're putting their money where their mouth is.

Its almost like these Low effort-Low dev cost games that can be shut off like a light switch on a companies whim are not really THAT popular... or something.

This law is disgusting. If I lived in California, I'd consider leaving too.
Imagine being a parent and the government prevents you from knowing if your pre-pubescent child is experiencing gender confusion. Doesn't give you the chance to discuss it with your child and see what they think. Instead it could potentially allow strangers enforce the belief and lead the child down an irreversable path they would otherwise not have taken.
Where will the government be in 20 years when that child grows up and regrets their decisions, wondering why you allowed them to undergo such irreversible changes in their childhood?
What the hell is wrong with waiting for children to finish going through puberty, grow up to legal age, and then decide for themselves if they want to still make life altering surgeries.
First, they don't prevent you. They just don't make it mandatory.
Second, do children deserve no privacy to figure out why they are? If a kid announces in class that he's gay, should the parents be informed by mandate? What if he says he's Joe but the registration says he's Joseph (a real thing one state banned.) Or if he writes an essay about being raises Catholic but losing his faith?
The child isn't getting care, he's just making a statement about who he is. Why should it be mandatory to inform the parents? What if you are a teacher and know the parents will respond negatively? Very negatively? What if the child just wrote it in an essay, or confided it in you after class, but isn't acting on it elsewhere?
When did high school kids lose any shred of privacy and independence and start being property of parents?
Your view is kind of disgusting. If a kid says "I think I may be trans" the school isn't taking out a scalpel and cutting off their testicles, and it shouldn't be forced to immediately call the parents. Kids should be able to find themselves.

We have 8 billion and that's already billions over capacity. And what do we have in less than 2 centuries of industrialization - particularly in the last several decades - a new gilded age with a dying and unaffordable planet for most. What made Mozart - and any other genius - special is that they're rare. A 1000 of them becomes, 'Enh, another Mozart? Whatever.'
Less people is a good thing. It was the Black Death that gave rise to the first middle-class. More people = life is cheap and a race to the bottom out of desperation. Just look at global migration today, and it's only going to get worse. It means war and eventually a Malthusian crisis. Infinite growth is not only bullshit, it's stupid because it's unsustainable.
