I am absolutely flabbergasted that of the first 5 comments on this, all 5 are in support of MS taking over Activision.

You and me, both. If the federal trade commission cares enough to appeal, there might be something they see that might actually be bad for competition in the future. I don't have a dog in this fight, but mergers and less competition is in general bad for the consumer. It's weird to see so many people suffering from collective corporate brainwashing. Maybe it's microplastics in the drinking water or something.

Sony, which controls almost 70% of the console market, a monopolistic dominance that you were hoping to remain unchallenged.
Sony, that owns Playstation, the most closed, anti-consumer platform of all.
Sony, who paid 3rd party publishers to not release games on competitive platforms or even on gamepass.

You deserve this, all of it.

Can't wait to play Diablo4 next month for free on gamepass.

Don't forget to wash your cheerleading outfit after a workout like that.

After what has been a relatively prolonged drought in the types of games I really like, two that score extremely high on my own personal hype meter are going to come out at what for all practical purposes is the same time.

Between Starfield and BG3, I might not have to buy another game for a few years. They cover medieval and space, and if Cyberpunk DLC delivers, there's my grand trio all covered for the immediate future. Feels like good times.

How is it "Fallout-lite" when it's nothing like Fallout? Unless you're just thinking that RPGs in general are "Fallout-ish" which makes no sense. Fallout isn't a genre, it's a setting.

Heh, I didn't make the initial comparisons. I agree, the only thing it had in common with Fallout was that it wasn't in a Medieval setting. But still, it's in the gravitational range of games I usually fall for:
1st Person
RPGish
Tinkering
Choices

Most articles I come across along the lines of 'if you liked x. try y almost always include one as a substitue for the other. I think a closer comparison will be Starfield vs. Starfield Ultra-lite.

It takes a lot of guts to release something like this in today's puritan censorship environment. Kudos to them!

I'm down for it. I'll bring snacks.

I liked The Outer Worlds, sort of, but I really thought all the comparisons to Fallout was selling Fallout short. TOW was Fallout Lite, in my mind, and some of the issues I had with it kept it from being truly great. Inventory, for example. Why have all the shite you could pick up, and most of it was either useless or duplicate. It kind of felt unfinished to me. Still, I like Obsidian, and will probably day one Avowed and TOW 2.

After all, Skyrim Lite and Fallout Lite are still more enjoyable to me than most of the other stuff out there.

"Riot Simulator 6 - L.A. 92" was much better imho, great sound track too!

While "Riot Simulator IX - Clash at L'Arc de Triomphe" has better graphics and increased the player numbers, I found they have gone backwards in the fire and water physics.

Yea, but the controls in 6 sucked. Better bricks, though.

Rogue Six and Rhett already said it, but I'm just glad to see LOTR, if not in good hands, at least OUT of bad hands. I think this will be a plus in the long run. I'd like to see a developer who's qualified, nay, OVER qualified, get a shot at LOTR. I'm still waiting for the great RPG that this deserves. This IS rpg, ffs.
So... Bethesda?

I mean, from the second image in the article, the cleavage is untouched.

Getting rid of "barely legal" feels like a good idea, though.

Cleavage was more a poke at the Mona Lisa reference. They edited out the panty shot. I like panty shots. To each their own.

Extra spicy because the developer doing this, wasn't the developer that made this game. So some doofus is changing a game they haven't even made themselves to fit their own worldview and publish that as official version on Steam. WTF?

This would qualify as vandalism. ^^

I agree with you 100%.
I'm not exactly sure when Puritans took over the gaming industry, but this just stinks. Why not paint a turtleneck on the Mona Lisa? Just 'cause, you know, kids and their virgin eyes. It's not assult rifles and dismemberment that messes up our youth, after all, so it must be cleavage.
