Is Kieth Richards still alive? If so, he must be going on 120. If not, sorry for being insensitive. Who knew the fountain of youth was Sex, Drugs, and Rock'n'Roll?

The original Max Payne constipated expression is priceless.
The man is so driven for revenge, so single minded in purpose, that he forgoes his own intestinal comfort and instead ploughs headlong into darkness, bullets and blood.

Thanks! I needed that.

Loved Quake 2. I'll always have a soft spot for it, it's what got me into hardcore multiplayer. And I still love that single player soundtrack. It got me pumped to empty rounds into braindead ai. All nostalgia, no calories!

The ultimate edition is out and available. I picked up that edition from GMG. The game has a good feel. Don't remember if the original had a minimap but this one does. This took 4 years or so, which is a pretty fast pace for a small studio. The first game was really good so I did not have any issues preordering.

Glad to hear it still has good feels. I was watching a few streamers play it briefly, and it looked like good fun again. Think I'll pick this up.

I think I'm probably going to starve to death once Starfield and BG3 release. Not on purpose, more like an astral travel death by neglecting the body.

Completely subjective here, but some game engines just have the right 'feel' to me. Remnant was that kind of game, it felt good. I don't know if it's movement speed, field of view, object depth, or what, but it just felt really nice controlling my dude. Hope this one feels the same.

For any nostalgic Metal fans out there, I believe it was around 1970 that one of the earliest pioneer bands in the field, Saxon, wrote "The Eagle Has Landed" to commemorate the event. A song that still (somewhat) holds up today.

It was an off the cuff joke.

verb: johning i.e. tacos lead to Johning.

Sorry if you didn't get it, but I don't need an explanation, thanks.

@Yifes @Beamer

Thank you.

I read the whole trilogy (I think it was a trilogy, might have been four?) over a decade ago, and it stuck with me. Really great vision, I remember thinking. Beamer, it's too bad the show lets it down. Words like stark, grim, contemplative, would have been fine, but gruff just usually seems like a universal paste to spackle over bad acting. Maybe I'll just dust off the old books, buried behind newer ones, and do a whole reread. Hadn't thought about them in a while, but 'Silo' turned out to be a trigger word.

I can't think of a worse noun grouping than "Taco" and "John."

I think "John" might actually be a verb here...

You're right on living in the past Beamer:

On the O.o.t.B thread they're tripping over Babylon 5 coming to Blue Ray.
I'm sure I have the whole thing somewhere but never saw a single episode.
Now I *have* to find and watch it to get on par with the old hoary guard.

I genuinely think TV is better now, or at least a few years back, than it ever has been.
And it's crashing right in front of us, haha.

But people seem to love B5, and it's always worth going back to favorites. It sounds like B5 focused on characters. I just watched Silo, done by the showrunner of Justified, and given how Justified was all about characters, it was disappointing that Silo didn't have any.

Is Silo based on Wool, by any chance? I'm not too current on tv, mostly gaming with my free time. If it IS, I might want to look into it. Unless it's uniformly bad.

Going by their history, a cynic might be inclined to think they are setting things up this way so you can buy your way out of it in the near future. I mean, of course they'd never do that.....
