jesus christ, maybe blizzard wouldn't be such a shit hole if its employees didn't all walk off the job when one person gets offended. Ever heard the term "Be the change you want to see in the world"? Yes I understand sitting on your ass on the front lawn is very American, but it isn't getting anything done.

Yes. Quietly sitting there hoping for change has done so much in this world...

"Man who is fine with status quo lectures others on precisely the inoffensive, polite right way to achieve change" is an increasingly popular take of late. On one side, wealthy corporations and crass businessmen who give no fucks about anything but the bottom line. On the other side, employees, some of whom are unhappy with the current situation. But somehow we have a ton of people who see these two sides and think "Boy I sure hope those unhappy employees aren't asking for a little too much from the poor underprivileged WEALTHY CORPORATION!"

Yeah. The usual far-right suspects, which includes Cutter on any topic he isn't directly impacted by, are sure showing up in droves to be angry at people who want to work in a fair environment, or just anything that doesn't most impact straight white males positively.
Several have most likely never worked at a place with more than 15 employees.

A classic stance, that they want something (video games) and don't care how much suffering is attached to the process.

What part of video game lore isn't made up?

As disingenuous as this question is, it does prompt another question: what makes something authentic?

The problem I have with the show is only that it doesn't feel authentic. The reason for that is an essential difference in storytelling mediums. In the games the main character is pretty hollow, and that's on purpose, it allows the player to lose themselves in the game easier if they don't have to compete with a strong personality.

In the show, you have to answer a ton of questions about who the protagonist is, questions that the game doesn't have to address. The show has to try to make the lore and plot consistent with how this new, non-playable, character would act and react. This makes the show seem disconnected from the games in a way that is hard to reconcile.

In essence, it doesn't feel authentic because I'm not the star of the show.

Sure, if they can find suitable work and community elsewhere. By comparison, hurricanes are a more survivable natural disaster than fires, earthquakes or tornadoes.

Better to look now than later. As this sort of situation becomes more and more drastic it will be much harder to leave hurricane territory with any assets.

The fact that there is no 'earthquake' season makes that part of the comparison a bit empty, and hurricanes can create tornados so that's a twofer there.

The double standards for gov't employees just pisses me off to no end. In the private sector people can and do get fired for the most inconsequential shit. Many of those firings are even illegal but you have zero recourse unless you're a high level executive. Yet, assholes like that are permitted to retire and collect a full pension. I'd say the witnesses and victims of that dick sue him in civil court and take everything he owns in that case. It needs to be way easier and faster to terminate gov't employees.

It not being fired, its being court marshalled and discharged. Blame the prosecutors for letting him plea guilty and dropping the charge that would have stripped him of his benefits.

it's my birfday soon, and i just bought an $80 wagyu steak for myself. if anybody has any recommendations how to cook it i'm all ears. 12 oz NY strip.

Reverse sear. Put it in the oven at like 200 - 250 until it's about 10-15 degrees below your target temp. Then finish on a super-hot pan in a high heat oil (clarified butter or ghee is a steakhouse classic, but avocado oil, grapeseed, sunflower are all good high heat ones) for 30 seconds each side. Look up reverse sear for more tips, but you'll get a perfect interior with an almost non existent grey band on the steak if done right.

Same. When they have the $10 dollar off coupons combined with a sale it gets pretty cheap.
