Well, watch those Star Trek shows quickly. Netflix is removing the bulk of the Start Trek shows over the next month.
I wonder where they could possibly end up after that...

Totally make sense... remember this first shipped in 640x480 and expansion added 800x600.
Except the fact that this isn't the original, it's supposed to be a remaster and upgrade. The only reason for that is to allow the game to be enjoyed despite the changes in technology that have occurred since the first release. Hell, why offer 16:9 support? Let's limit the resolution to 800x600.

They don't feel like putting the work involved in increasing the limitation zones, so ship it off a 2021 "remaster" with very limited support for ultrawide monitors. The line "To protect the integrity of everyone’s experience and promote an equal playing field for all", is really a crock, and very weak excuse. What about the advantage those using 19:9 have over someone using 16:9? Just a little inequality is OK?

It's not that it couldn't be done, they just didn't want to bother.

McDonald's, Starbucks, Smash Burgers, Target, and so forth have changed their logos to white and their physical stores to a primary white aesthetic with a secondary color. What's the reasoning? I did some research, and it turns out many have decided to copy in whole or in part Apple's branding. Perhaps COVID's impact on their business was the impetus for change, or perhaps COVID merely accelerated their pre-COVID plans.
I don't have any idea about Starbucks or Smash Burgers, but there has been no significant change to either the McDonald's or Target logos that I've seen. McDonald's logo is still red and yellow, and I don't see them giving up "The Golden Arches" anytime soon to emulate Apple. Target's logo has always been primary red with white, so no change there, either.

Redesign reference: Target, McDonald's*

Both have updated to this new look in my community, including multiple stores very near each. If you haven't seen it, then it means those stores will eventually be updated.

* I despise McDonald's. They spend billions changing their look, but the food is still the same (a cheeseburger should not take a minute to prepare 🤮). They need to spend billions on implementing a grill-cooking solution the way they used to and how In-N-Out Burger and The Habit do it today.
Nothing overly compelling in the linked pictures, either, though. Target has always used red on white or white on red for their logo, and still combine both on the company website, depending on what they are highlighting. The new in-store design does reek of Apple store a bit, I concede. McDonald's, on the other hand, I see no evidence. The interior looks like a very slightly modernized, uh, McDonald's, nothing more. The name "McDonald's" on the side of the store being in white is quite a reach. That is not a logo, and I would be willing to bet the same "Golden Arches" logo is still displayed on a tall sign over that same store. There is nothing, whatsoever, on the McDonald's corporate site to indicate they are moving to any sort of white logo, nor rebranding to the "White Arches".

Perhaps he was referring to the fact that not everyone holds your political beliefs or "facts". I, personally, am afraid to leave the house under the impending threat of a Republican supporting Apple juggernaut!

It is very sad that we will never again see a Rainbow Six game that is remotely like the series' roots. Tactical gameplay like the original with what is possible with today's graphics and engines would be amazing.

But yeah, a lot of QoL is missing. For example, they kept the stupid "shared drops" mechanics.
I just played with 7 other people through Act 1, guess how many blue/yellow drops I managed to pick up as a ranged class? ZERO
As soon as anything dropped, the melee characters were instantly all over it.
Exactly why I don't even bother with multiplayer games with randoms. It's a group of friends, or strictly solo for me.

Why does it have to be either/or? Why can't it have existing MCU characters as well as fully customizable characters? As a matter of fact, how will it even be a "Marvel" game if it has no Marvel characters? What makes Marvel *is* the characters. It will just be Generic Superhero Game.

I still have a 3dfx card in an old computer in my guest room closet. Don't remember which model, but I wonder if it still runs. I don't think that computer even had network access, so I never had an effective way to get any data off that machine since my later computers didn't have floppy or magnetic tape backup drives.

As usual the Microsoft store f*cks up.

I got a notice from IsThereAnyDeal Forza 7 was on sale for $9 yesterday. Went to MS store, the page says it's for xbox and pc, but will only let me by the Xbox version, not the PC version I wanted. Go to the PC section, its still list price there.
Dude, Microsoft 1st party games are "Play Anywhere". Buy once, play on xbox or pc. There is no xbox only version on the MS store. It will be on sale until it is delisted on 9/15.

It can be a little eerie no doubt Blue. Especially in the big arenas where they play basketball and football. But I also like that the teams have become their own fans. When not participating themselves they're going to watch and support their teammates and it can get loud. Swimming and Judo last night were very loud lol. Volleyball is always popular and it's been fairly loud too.

It's certainly a different kind of Olympics, but so far it's been a fun one to watch. At least for those of us that have escaped NBC's horrible coverage.
It's definitely a unique situation for the athletes that want to watch other sports. They have free reign to all the events without having to worry about crowds and availability of seats. They'll probably never have a situation like that again.

why buy a scalp..it's easy enough to reserve one?

Not anymore. Reservations window was exactly 1.5 hours. FOMO validated.
Not even close. I reserved one past 5:30PM EST on Saturday, more than 28 hours after reservations started. As of Sunday afternoon, they are still available. Zero reason to give scalpers any attention.

"Available," as in they continue to take back-orders. A reservation on Saturday afternoon will get you one in (they hope) Q2 or Q3 of next year, not by the end of this year. Scalpers will make big bank on what they nabbed of the few shipping out in December.
As has already been noted numerous times, this is not some medicine someone needs to survive, it's an entertainment device. It's still available to order. Yes, there will be a delay now... I think I'll get by in the meantime. I look at it as a positive, and had no interest in being first in line. Let the early adopters deal with the initial production issues. When my reservation slot comes up, it will be in enough people's hands to determine if it is worth the money, or if I should just put the $5 back into my Steam wallet.

They really kind of buried the lede here by not mentioning she was nude in the headline. The initial question raised by their headline is "How did she manage to do that?", but the more important question is, "Why was she not wearing any clothes when she got herself stuck between two buildings?"

It's worth noting that the original 2600 in 1983 costed US$199, which is equivalent to $849.88 in 2020. I remember my parents had to set aside money to buy one for the family. It wasn't cheap back then.

The base system is $300 and a classic joystick is $60. By the time you factor in shipping and tax that's around $400. The $400-bundle includes a pair of controllers. However, I think they should offer a bundle with two classic joysticks like the original 2600 offered back in the 80s.
That would be worth noting, and an equivalent comparison to today's dollars, if technology had not progressed since 1983. The problem lies in the fact that technology has progressed, and 1983's technology is not worth the equivalent in today's dollars. This is a nostalgia grab, and that's fine, but it can not reasonably be compared to what entertainment costs now.
