Ahem: "Domestic terrorists" or "Seditionists" not "rioters". A riot is a random event of chaos and anger that happens in response to an unpredictable stimulus. The attack on the Capitol was a preplanned event arranged by Donald Trump and GOP organizations, where the participants were invited to DC on a specific date (because our legislators would be gathered together in one place, all at once, deciding the outcome of the election), through emails and phone calls. Once there, a series of speakers riled up the crowd, stating there was to be "trial by combat" and "this is the last chance to take your government back" and pointed the assembled mob at one specific location, which was the building our elected representatives were in. The insurrectionists then stormed that building, seeking out the legislators for punishment or death (per new information released from the DoJ). While there were some clowns in the crowd, there were also people armed with restraints, firearms and other weapons who went directly to preplanned targets. There were also pipe bombs planted around town, and vehicles with pipe bombs and weapons were located nearby for easy retrieval once needed. This was nothing like a riot.

WW84 was stupid and cheesy but wasn't that bad IMO. I'd rather rewatch it than many of the other DC comic book movies.

Yeah, me and my family have watched it on HBOMAX and we were kinda shocked how cringy it was at times. Good actors working with a bad script IMHO. I thought Kristen Wiig did a great job with her Cheetah character. This sequel was not good enough for me to recommend to anybody other than comic fans, but not bad enough to warrant Green lantern level disdain. Some of these corny superhero movies almost seem to get better with age so I will probably watch it again in the future.

I don't get the hate for GL. I love that movie.

The first 3/4 of GL was awesome. Then...it just all fell apart. The idea of Hammond and Parallax colliding with the newly-minted GL - it was like "How the HELL is he going to get out of this?" Then Hammond just dropped off the radar and one uncreative giant fist knocks Parallax into the Sun after like a dozen GLs didn't have the power to put him down (and honestly, he's at a power level where a star wouldn't bother him). Plus, Hal Jordan isn't a jokey funny man. He's usually a solemn straight man who might quip here and there, but I guess that wouldn't be as entertaining as Deadpool with a power ring.

As for WW84...it was dumb fun, with some massive problems and plot holes. Going from World War 2 and the God of War to a con man with wish powers and a not-great Cheetah was a big step down. You had to wait 98% of the movie to finally see Cheetah in her cat form, and it was so blurry, dark, and muted, you couldn't see jack (and her motivations were weak as a character, but so was Max's).

The only reason to search Trump's Tweets is if you were interested in finding evidence for his hundreds of crimes and multiple dozens of impeachable acts to hold him accountable for being the most corrupt and incompetent President in American history. As long as he is actively pushing the overthrow of the government, he should be silenced, and Twitter has no obligation to provide a platform for sedition, especially after Trump's attempted coup resulted in multiple deaths.

There is a Trumper who has painstakingly catalogued all of his Tweets though, so the information is out there.

They've been brainwashed by propaganda masquerading as news for 40 years. We really need to do something about Fox/Newsmax/OANN and others radicalizing US citizens against their government with lies and propaganda. Absolutely no different than what ISIS and Al Qaeda does. Sedition, nationalism and treason masquerading as religious freedom and patriotism.

If we go that route, then I'd also argue Fox, Newsmax, OANN, and the others need massive oversight and regulation. If you purport to be news, you should employ journalists with actual degrees and experience in journalism, be held to some kind of journalistic standards, have to provide at least some kind of sources for your "stories" (other than "some people believe"), etc. Hell, we also need to bring back the Fairness Doctrine that Reagan scrapped that paved the way for these political propaganda outlets.

The regulation thing is a slippery slope. But you have to draw lines somewhere. The government comes up with legal drinking ages, consensual intercourse ages, smoking, movie ratings, drunk driving BAC levels, etc. Free speech also has limits, as you can't threaten to murder others, yell fire in a theater, etc. For hundreds of years, we have not allowed propaganda within our nation to flourish. If you were a person who rallied others around you and promoted lies about our government with the intent to do harm, or overthrow the government, you would be arrested and charged with sedition, treason, etc. Social media and the internet has somewhat put an end to regulating this dangerous speech, as it's impossible to regulate private messages between bands of seditionists, foreign agents, etc. and billions of web pages. Not sure what the answer is, but if private companies do not want domestic terrorists and seditionists to use their platforms, that's within their rights. If Trump doesn't want to be regulated, he shouldn't have spread this propaganda and encouraged his followers to attack the government.

Are you upset that someone is actively searching for child porn on the internet to expose it, report it and get it removed and prosecuted.

Seems a bit odd for something to rant about don't you think.

Nice of you to put words in my mouth like this. You've become quite adept at painting strawman logical fallacies lately. Can't say I applaud your most illogical focus.

But back to the topic...

What seems odd is her obsession with equating child porn to adult porn by wanting to ban adult porn outright using child porn as an excuse, which is exactly what the movement she works for advocates.

It's just another case of "think of the children" bullshit to push a particular political, and in this case religious agenda ( the movement in question is quite transparent about this ), and you know it.

If I were as inclined as you seem to be lately at spinning a strawman, I could say: "What are you saying? That you want religion to dictate policy and to turn the US into a theological dictatorship like in Saudi Arabia where women are treated like property?" See how insipid and unhinged that sounds? So next time... please, if you could try avoiding logical fallacies in general and strawmans like these here in particular?

That being said... Have a nice day bro.

Child porn and terrorism are the two "go tos" for removing rights, snooping on citizens, ramming religion down our throats. It's difficult to combat these attacks because opponents will state you are "for" child porn or terrorism, when are simply for not throwing out 99% of the non-child porn/terrorism sites/rights to combat problems the 1% of cases that are actually child porn or terrorism related.

Pence has not ruled out 25th Amendment
I suspect this is either not accurate, or simply an attempt to cause the House Ds to delay. Almost any delay in their actions would lead to them running out of time to impeach prior to the 20th.

And to those who think a second impeachment will only cause further damage, I say it is easily avoided. All Trump has to do is resign.

One thing to consider is Trump has officially thrown Pence to the wolves. He won't overturn the election for Donald (despite the fact he doesn't have that power, despite what some scholars believe, because our entire democracy would be worthless if a President's VP could just turn the election over to the guy they work for and ignore the voters), so Trump has unleashed his followers on Pence. Some are calling for Pence to hang, and that he is a traitor, etc.

So in order to preserve his own life, he might be considering removing Trump, who is the one riling up all these insurrectionists who are out for Pence's head.

I have to say I feel sorry for you in the United States. Now that Trump is gone, you can already now see that countries like North Korea, China, Iran will take advantage of you again.

North Korea, China, and Iran have had zero impact on my life as an American. Whatever "advantage" they are taking is of no concern to me. The people taking advantage of ordinary Americans are other Americans.

Yes, if you believe Trump did anything at all against China, NK, Iran, you are sipping on the Kool Aid. Trump gave North Korea concessions and legitimacy by meeting with them, and gained absolutely nothing in return. His China trade war has been absolutely disastrous for our economy, while also receiving nothing of value in return. Meanwhile, Trump does significant business with China, so it's a mystery why Trump supporters believe Biden is the one in cahoots with China. The Iran problem was essentially solved for the time being after Obama, until Trump ripped up the historic peace/arms agreement that more intelligent people worked hard to craft. Trump's leaving a massive disaster in his wake with destroyed international agreements, shunned and backstabbed allies, disastrous tariffs and economic policies, a rampaging pandemic with STILL no national plan, thousands dying daily, increasing unemployment, the biggest deficit in history (and he doubled the deficit long BEFORE COVID), highest debt in history. Trump has been an utter disaster for the USA on all fronts, including harming our democracy and national security.

The funny thing is normally you can say when things like this happen, it's not really the President's fault (such as gas prices increasing, civil wars in other nations, etc.), but most of these failures can directly be tied back to Trump, who went against all the experts. In fact, his entire administration was nothing but him wanting to do absolutely stupid things, and his entire administration, military leaders and others doing their best to convince him not to do that, or delaying the order until he forgot about it. Despite all the massive damage he has done, it could have been much worse. The fact he has any supporters left at all at this point shows we have some massive problems with propaganda masquerading as news in this country.

I find it surprising that Biden gets so much support here within the gaming community.
Joe Biden is on record against video games, which he believes promotes violence.
He even called gamers "little creeps" and said video games "teach you how to kill people."

https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7qzfns

I find it strange that gamers align with the GOP, who wishes to ram their religion down our throats and regulate sex, music, video games, porn, explicit movies, and books that they don't like. And while both sides have done all of the above, it's the GOP that makes it a priority. Recall before COVID when school shootings happened every week, and the GOP stated we needed to start regulating video games to curb gun violence?

Exactly. It's well-known Biden has a speech impediment he has had to overcome. It causes him to misuse words, stutter, lose his train of thought. It has nothing to do with his intelligence or age.

Meanwhile, Trump can ramble on nonstop for hours. But what does he say when he speaks? It's utter garbage and nonsense. Listen to Biden's public statement to the Trump Coup, and listen to what Trump said. One is an intelligent leader who called for the nation to come together. The other is an unqualified con man who was happy with what happened and hopes it happens again.

Supposedly? His campaign sent emails to the insurrectionists to be there at a certain date. He fired them up and said they needed to march on the capitol to show their "strength".

This was not a riot or protests. This was a violent insurrection against our government. A riot is random violence against random targets such as parked cars, storefronts, etc. with no goal. This was storming the capitol in hopes the lawmakers would be there. While some of the perps looked and acted like clowns, there were some armed with restraints, weapons. For in inexplicable reason, security was abnormally light this day that Trump and dark-money organizations (through robocalls) told these people to be there. As the coup progressed, Trump refused to call in reinforcements such as the National Guard, and his aides state he seemed elated by what was happening. They begged him to release a statement to condemn and diffuse the situation. He refused. Instead, he actually had the gall to call up congressional lawmakers and tell them now is the time to throw the election to him, while they were under duress. Hours later a prerecorded statement was released which again called the election fraudulent and rigged, which were the very things that caused these people to march in the first place. He also expressed his admiration for those who participated in the insurrection.

During the events, there were obviously some people participating that knew exactly where certain sensitive areas were, even if legislators worked in areas that were not their public offices. Laptops, files, and desktops of top-level government officials were stolen or accessed during the coup. Whether it was Trump supporters or foreign agents using the chaos of the Trump Insurrection as cover, we do not know at this time.

Trump deserves to be impeached and charged for his role in instigating this violent insurrection, as do the others who participated. Trump supporters should be ashamed for continued support of this treasonous clown.

Banning the current President of the United States from social media for supposedly inciting an angry mob is a bad idea.
Trump only has a few days left in office, and this sets a precedent that could come back to bite them very soon.

Soon-to-be President Harris (we all know Joe won't last long) praised those peaceful protests over the summer as the "New Coalition of Conscience" and even helped raise money to bail them out.

In August, Senator Kamala Harris spoke to former comedian Stephen Colbert about the riots that rocked the country throughout the summer. Harris gleefully said that "they're not gonna stop," come the election. "This is a movement, I'm telling you," she said.
Colbert noted that media just wasn't covering these riots by the end of August for some reason, and Harris seemed to think this was a problem.
Harris nodded, "Right, that's right," she said. "But they're not gonna stop. They're not gonna stop. This is a movement, I'm telling you. They're not gonna stop. And everyone BEWARE, because they're not gonna stop."
"They're not gonna stop before election day in November, and they’re not gonna stop after election day. And that should be–everyone should take note of that, on both levels.
They're not gonna let up,"
Harris said with pride, "and they should not. And we should not."
The August 30 interview came after 30 people were killed in the intensive rioting from May through August, and billions of dollars in property damage was reported.
