The steam index headset tracks even more.
I don’t see how it’s much different than Facebook, if you don’t use Facebook you can just create an account and never log into it for anything else except vr gaming.

But but but Steam is gud! Gaben told me so!

Surprised and disappointed.
It's a well known effect, to minimize the wrongs or harmful intentions of a person or entity, by comparing them to another.
"They are all the same".
But Facebook and Steam, are you serious?
Wow.

I think you meant to reply to Redeye rather than my sarcastic post. That said, while I agree with you and Verno that Steam is not as bad as FB, that they engage in similar behavior is not at question. It's just that Steam doesn't do anything with the data it collects, since that's not its business model.

Your comment seemed an aid and abet

As far as I know, Steam privileged and powerful status was not used to abuse other businesses.
Instead Epic's launcher read Steam files in your PC.
And Zuck facilitated the eventual sale of his countrymen private data to manipulators (Cambridge Analytica and who else)

Interesting statistic. Trump is the first president in nearly 50 years not to have started any new foreign conflicts. The president before him not to do that was Jimmy Carter.

When was the last president that started as many internal conflicts, I wonder?

I'm guessing jdreyer is referring to actual openly declared warfare, because Trump literally had an Iranian general murdered outside any Congressionally declared war, started an open trade war with China, while they build artificial islands with impunity in the Pacific, supported Russia while losing pretty much every NATO ally. There was also a bit of an oil war between Russia and OPEC that might partially be Trump's fault, but it was barely in the news with Covid and everything else. Undeclared open conflict between US marines/special forces and Russian "mercenaries" (Russian unmarked soldiers working for Wagner, which is openly run by the Russian Ministry of Defense) in 2018 at that oil refinery as well, the Russian/Syrian troops were mostly killed by US artillery and airstrikes. Luckily for Trump, he's so useful for Putin, politically. Although Trump did abandon a nice fully stocked US military base in Syria for the Russians to take over. Also abandoning the Kurds in Syria, abandoning Syrian resistance entirely for that matter... all Trump. The US is also still doing covert bombings/murders around the world, either missile/drone strikes, or new non-explosive strikes, but that's every President in my lifetime.

I mean I guess literally starting world war 3 is all that's left for his second term, if he stays in office? Not to mention civil war in the US.

Even the horrible GOP didn´t let him start an Iran war, otherwise ...
And his preferred enemies by far, are americans he doesn´t see as people and everyone that does not adulate him.
Not that he really gives a cent for his followers.
Other countries are not that important, except as political props.

Great game, lots and lots of good fine times.
Didn't feel particularly confined or bothered by anything.
But then again, I like gaming. New ones, really old ones, open world, corridor, on rails, all have their appeal.
Also payed 2 peanuts, Xbox pass.

Why allow the devs to dictate the limits ?
Why slog through a game when you can modify it to delight you ?
As I did through my real life, I don't play by the rules, and it benefited me enormously.

I love exploring and enjoying a game's world.
Combat is highly valued, and meeting interesting characters and beings.
But at the end, they are just games, supposed to give the most fun.

Remapping keyboard and mouse, using mods, slowing or speeding it up with cheat engine.
Changing the camera, adding mouse look, the rate of experience getting, timers, power, et al.

In 2 more lifetimes, I won't get to play the games I have already, and more keep piling up.
I play easier, faster, more eventfully, getting to places and doing things forbidden to usual players.

So many, many games, otherwise abandoned, turned out to be very good.

What a coincidence !
Raven fan since 1993.
Came to read the news, just after finishing minutes ago, Shadowcaster, a Raven game from 1993.
Promised me 27 years ago that I would finish it, just did, armed with walkthrough, hints, glovepie and cheat engine .
For DOS games, I recommend a freeware, DOSBOX-X, mind the extra X.
Comes with 10 instant ***save states and loads ***.
And opengl, directx, super2xsai, supereagle, etc, etc.

As planned, will play CyClones another Raven game they made after.
Then will play In search of greed (not Raven's).
Many more,
Powerslave 1996 (finished, a delight).
Witchhaven 1,2
Cybermage
Chasm the rift
Technomage
etc.
On a yesteryear roll and loving it.

Dozens of goldies, Windows and DOS,

(aka Cernaja metka,Chernaya Metka,Traque,Black Label, 2008 Buka)
- Also, "Revolution", 2002 Activision Value Publishing, half-life vibes all the way.

Fun, though not as great,
They're Alive
Pariah
Will Rock
etc,

He's invited me out for harvest so I can pick his brain about what's really involved in nut farming, costs, work, pros/cons, etc. I'm really excited about this! And hopefully I'll be able to buy a few bags of hazelnuts directly from him for Xmas treats for my critters and myself. Hopefully we can get this C19 bullshit sorted out sooner than later so I can buy some acreage and get going on this. Farmer Coots. Hah!

Wish you the best of luck with that !

The Last Of Us, or does it even need to be said?
Two completely obscure mentions, for an average games (from what I hear) that will never happen, Drakan II and Summoner II. I just liked the original games so much, at the time.

I share your preferences, Drakan II and Summoner II, good taste, man

I've dedicated myself to playing PS2 HD games (PSX2) the last weeks and will continue to do so.
Help myself modifying *everything* with Cheat Engine and pnach files.
Add mouse look (PSX2´s Lilypad or Glovepie).

Played
- Drakan II, great !
- Baldurs Gate 1,2 very good
- Shadowman 2 (fixed graphics, just unusual freezes, no problem with instant savestates anywhere). Very good, not as good as the first (got me superjump and other QOLs).

- Played these Fromsoftware fantasy games :
- King's Field 4 The Ancient City.
Excellent, you *need* a walk though and be a maniac. Got a .pnach file that accelerates your movement, or no game.
- Shadow Tower Abys !! very good, if you are a fan with patience.
- Eternal Ring, no, **too** archaic, finished it out of curiosity.
- Evergrace, no, has some moments, but archaic, finished it but at times it trolls you badly with repetitious chores.

-Will start Kuon now, then Demons Souls (RPCS3), Forever Kingdom, etc.
Will try Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2, and (Gamecube Dolphin). Maybe 3D Dot Game Heroes and others.

Having a blast and some 50 plus console games I *will* play, lined up.
*Then* I'll come back and finish that pesky 500 pc games backlog

Thanks for the lolz.
I’ll let you in on a little secret. China ain’t going anywhere and the world needs China more than China needs the world. Also, thinking the military are an option in dealing with China is pure insanity.

And here you are as a rep for the tiny brain trust defending a genocidal fascistic communist dictatorship. "Lolz"
Didn't their dictator Xi just warn everyone about a coming food shortage? Arent they about to run out of chips for phones and computers?
But yea ok if you think China doesnt need the rest of the world then you should have no issue with tougher sanctions.
You know its ok to dislike Trump AND the CCP right?

Redeye played his hand, again. He's the stereotypical far-left pro-China communist that would be on the streets reaping havoc if he ever came out of his basement. Only reason he ordered his "Biden & Harris facemask" is so the postman won't infect him.

Hahahahahaha, "... played his hand, again." oh, so perfect an example !

RedEye9 said "the world needs China more than China needs the world", nowhere that China doesn't need the world. etc.
China gob is brutal, like Russia's, but much more powerful and crafty, and as such they require intelligent, professional and informed people to deal with them.
Direct insulting national confrontation is unwise and counterproductive.

Twisting willfully, or misunderstanding the meaning of others, then attacking rabidly.

Emulators are a godsend.
vimm.net got all your needs covered.

PCSX2 captures and assigns to Pad1 or 2, the mouse axis movements, buttons and wheel, and keyboard

Unusually, this 2 games aren't just play but require adjustments:

******* King's Field 4 The Ancient City USA by FROMSOFTWARE, finished it last week.
All the trappings of Dark Souls as expected
Use this 36E02E91.pnach in "cheats" folder, fixes warp errors etc.
github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/commit/f8a6a3c6ef002cf98dd30ed7d539ce3dad1a6fcf
Activate or not, by erasing or putting // at the beginning of each string.

*Must* use this cheat engine table .CT or the game controls are too slow by far.
https://pastebin.com/sumbyCS1, save txt as anyname.CT
Even so it controls somewhat drunkenly, but it´s totally worth it.
Gave me gold and freeze life with cheat engine, easy, search exact values, both 4 bytes.

******* "Shadowman 2 second coming" USA, finished it last night, with a special hacked PCSX2.
Although considered one of the few last games ***NOT playable*** with the emulator !.
FOR THE STRONG WILLED ONLY. Patch fixes perfectly the textures, but some freezes remains in great/certain areas. Just reload.
Saving often with 10 instant savestates slots, F2, save F1 /load F3, I enjoyed it to its ending (walkthrough needed).
In a *few* recurrent freezes, killing baddies for less movement, pass walking backwards or look at the walls in a few parts, take a few steps, and the problem disappears. Even CE speedhack to .8 helped there.
- play with PCSX2.exe hacked with the fix,
https://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Shadowman-2nd-Coming--65318
**prafull Post** Attached Files shadowman2.zip (Size: 3,54 MB / Downloads: 125)
drop the .pnach in "cheats" folder, activate Game Fixes in Config, Emulation Settings, Game Fixes, and tick the first and last fixes.
For cheats add to the 60AD8FA7.pnach this,
https://www.ps2-home.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3871
Had to find my own working super jump,
patch=1,EE,D02F8002,extended,0000BFFF

patch=1,EE,D02F8002,extended,0010BFFF
