I thought ME3's ending was fine. I got to it after they'd updated it per criticism but I didn't see it worse than say WL2's ending for Fallout's endings with the exception of getting video vignettes in ME3 instead of text summaries of the results of actions through the game like WL/FO. It was a fine series IMHO and one of the few 3 part series I've ever played to completion. I'm looking at you Witcher3!!! ><

This is a problem because of FB, Google, etc. They literally lost money because of data privacy laws in other countries. Their business is all about selling user info to advertisers. They also fund lobbies with their deep pockets to make sure US laws don't happen. It's in their best interest and bottom line. California was able to put in a GDPR-like solution but it's watered down because of the pull from those types companies.

It's not clear how to fix this. Lobbying is how humble americans can talk to their representatives but humble americans can't pour tens of millions into lobbiests to make sure they get what they want. And tens of millions is a drop in the bucket when one is pulling in tens of Billions.

I've been pretty impressed with this developer. Lots of new free content and a continuous attempt to improve the game. I do wonder how their funding works though. I can't imagine it still sells bonkers despite the steady stream of new content.

I didn't back it. Didn't know it was KS actually. I did buy it, play it and enjoyed it. Not backing it. I'll wait for GoG because the KS is offering Steam keys.

I've really enjoyed this game. It's got the Civ "one more turn" effect without being turn based. Not a game I would've tried if not for the Epic store. Ended up buying the DLCs from Ubi's store.

I'm surprised that they are going so fast on a hotfix and not reiterating that this is very early access and patches come when you get them, in their own sweet time. Expectations and alpha gameplay rarely go together well.
It's probably work they would have to do anyway so it's not a waste of time at least but yes, not it's an alpha folks. It'll be buggy! I was actually expecting more problems than I experienced considering it was an alpha.

I put 7hrs or so last night. Ignoring bugs, weird animations, broken conversations and all the other stuff that'll be cleaned up between now and release...

I didn't actually enjoy it much. Dialogs were somewhere between good and interesting.

Combat, I did not really enjoy. I thought it was much less interesting than DoS:2 or BG2 even though it was a rather clever amalgamation of both. That's probably my biggest beef with it. My 2nd biggest beef was the graphics, in some ways, is much more detailed which makes it hard to see what you need to see. DoS:1/2 both had plainer backgrounds and it was easier to pick out things in the environment.

Neither of those sound like deal breakers... So, I'm not sure what didn't click with me but I didn't really enjoy it which makes me sad. I might even return it and wait for a discount which I never do.

Everyone else is gushing over it though! I'm happy about that! Good for the players and good for Larian! Just wish I was with them on that.

Cant play it until I get home later. Should be really good. anyone buys a copy and wants to get some Coop going let me know.

You can disable _all_ of the friends, sharing, achievements, everything in Galaxy and then it just becomes much like the launcher just bigger disk footprint. It's harder to manage individual patch revisions if you want to save all the individual patches but Galaxy does make it easy to go to any revision.

I don't mind this change as much. I think it's a good move. You can't compete against Steam without partners.

Having said that... What I really want in Galaxy is mod support/management. They should partner up with Nexus or someone.

Interesting they're calling out the end of Flash being the reason... Because the switch would be fairly trivial/cheap, relative to what they've raked in over the years... If they were still profitable.

Changing to html5 shouldn't be hard. I agree, it probably doesn't make enough money to justify it. To think, farmville helped build FB back in the day.

It's crazy times but not really a new thing. Keep in mind Apple and google have their own gamepass-like arcades now too. The difference is they get 30% of those publisher's profits. PC doesn't really have that. Maybe that's another reason MS is picking up those companies. Now they keep 100% of those profits.

*Sheds tear*

Baldur's Gate 2 is one of my all time favorite games, across all genres. I'm almost done with my latest BG1EE playthrough, BG2EE is already installed and modded up, ready to go with my imported character. I keep getting drawn back, in between super AAA 3D eye candy, to that 2d (although BGEE versions technically have 3D models now) party based RPG. I loved Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, Divinity: Original Sin 1 and 2, NWN, Icewind Dale series, Planes of Torment, Tides of Numenaria, Wasteland 2 reboot, etc. etc. but I have probably done about 6-7 complete playthroughs of BG2, vanilla and with mods, and probably had a half dozen more started but interrupted by HD death or computer wipes/upgrades, or other mishaps.

BG2 was also my first introduction to the D&D/AD&D style ruleset, I'm somewhat ashamed to say.

I'm curious if there is something different which each play through you do or do you do the same thing each time? I generally liken these repeat game to popping another quarter in the arcade but maybe not in the world of modding and alternate choices.

I myself have yet to finish BG2. I've restarted 2 or 3 times but never get more than 20ish hrs in the game before I forget about it.

I don't know if there's doom and gloom warranted for PC. I think this move is more to fight Playstation. Xbox's exclusives are somewhat lacking. If they beef up available games via gamepass then they get a step up on PS. I feel like many publishers realize now that there is a console crowd and a PC crowd and (except for the people who have both) you can't force PC people or console players into the other camp with exclusives. This is more about fighting for turf inside of their xbox space.

OTOH, _IF_ they want to take on steam they have a long road ahead of them. Epic, GoG have a hard enough time and both of them do much better than the windows app store in all sorts of ways. Although, I will say the xbox and beta xbox app for windows is passable. Not great but passable and gamepass really is a great deal.

Gamepass, in actuality, is probably a bigger threat to steam and app stores than anything else because it's really pretty cheap on the whole of it if you play a lot of games.
