Everyone keeps telling me it isn't the devs fault - publisher-mandated release dates and what not - but eventually enough people will stop stupidly buying broken games. When enough people wait until a game works as it should this dumb shit will stop happening. Everyone is tired of excuses regardless of whose fault it is.

"The publisher" is a convenient scapegoat. I'm sure it's true some of the time but sometimes the devs just suck. If they can't deliver a product in a reasonable time becuase they're bad then that's not the publisher's fault.

I have over 1,000 hours in Battletech...

Bruh...
That's a lot for me, okay? I play other games too

With the load and turn times in Roguetech that ain't a surprising number

Probably sets a bad precedent but I'd pay $ to have those load times fixed!

Shame. I hope HBS survives.
Mebe instead of noire Lamplighters should've been a Mechwarrior/Battletech themed Lamplighters. There are no games (afaik) where you're playing the Mechwarrior instead of just stompy robots. That would've been a novel niche to exploit. Though, mebe too small a niche??

Plus a narrative puzzle advent, 3D, so unfazed ... Shame

But no one else has cared for me in this world like the EGS does, 4 years and 9 months of freebies now ... *poignant violin music*

Soulstice next week, yeah !

Fan of grid movement dungeon crawlers, bring it on !

Legend of Grimrock I & II - II has puzzles too complicated
Might & Magic X Legacy +expansion - epic
Operencia The Stolen Sun - VR support
The fall of the dungeon guardians
Vaporum 1 & 2
The Bard's Tale IV Barrows Deep - can be played grid or normal.
Heroes of the Monkey Tavern - very good more combat than puzzles
Arakion Book One - *Early Access* but good
Starcrawlers
7 Mages - hard but good, finished thanks to cheat engine
Dungeon Kingdom Sign of the Moon

Dungeon Hero - cute
Dungeon Of Dragon Knight
Dungeons of Legend Cast Within
KryptCrawler - hard, has a guide in Steam - played with cheat engine

( Coldfire Keep
(( The Keep - console port, mmm
(( Ruzar The Life Stone, meh, uninstalled - buggy when played
(( Crystal Rift - too buggy by far, couldnĀ“t finish it
((( The Deep Paths Labyrinth Of Andokost - poor and too hard, playable only with
CE table by Marc

Lol, pretty much 90% of these are in my library. The only thing I dislike with games like this is puzzles that are too complicated or not intuitive (or there are just too many of them, slowing down progress) or where you have classes that are tanks, but the enemies hit so hard even your tanks are no good, so you just have to "square dance" and try and hit enemies before they can hit you.
Same.

I'm backed up on my queue and have limited time but I'm sorely temped to but it just to support the devs. I love the Wizardry line.

If they've made enough $ to put out more MW then I'm all for it. I'm not sure what the argument here is for... I hope they make so little they can't put out more MW? That's not really an upside, right? I don't want to pay for more MW? Ok, I can see that... but then there'd be less MW and that's not great...

I'm all for more MW/Battletech RT or TB. Moar!

It's too hard to list the fees but not too hard to bill them? They already have a list or how are they billing people?

Or, they could just stop billing those fees and save themselves of all that extra work of having to list them. I'm sure that's totally not worth their effort since it's so hard! /s

Ground mounts way better if you have the space. No good reason to have panels and roof dependent on each other. Additionally, easier to set up tracking. Makes a difference if you can afford that.

This isn't reddit a specific problem... They're just the latest flavor of this news cycle. Other companies have gone through this same exercise... most recently twitter but also Google and Yahoo.

At the end of the day, the API costs money to run. If it's "free" (it should never be free) and someone builds and app off the free API they're essentially getting compute (and everything associated with running the service) for free. Maybe not a huge deal sometimes for small traffic sites but once sites reach a certain size it's a beefy chunk of money and that's extra not good if the company isn't not rolling around in profits. And, I ?think? Reddit is still losing money.

On top of that, if their api allows video/pics and the media doesn't have moderation then porn money will suck up a huge amount of bandwidth costs (traffic you can't generally monetize regardless if it's via a 3rd party through the api or served first party).

IMHO, it's a mountain made out of a molehill. If there's some amazing 3rd party app/feature the community wants then just pitch to have it added to reddit app.

Seems like a bad sign. Those ratings usually (not always) compensating for some bad design with something "edgy".

I like the game. Oddly, I like the game more after the story is done (it's pretty fast to complete) than playing through the story. Once all the powers are unlocked the game is quite fun. Jump around, blow stuff up. The mechanics of the gameplay are wonderful and after the 1.10 patch the performance is waaaay better.

The story and limited spells at the start is a drag. Though, if they stretched out the story _a lot_ then I think it would've been ok too. They just tried to cram too much plot into too little dialog.

Twitter had an anual negative cash flow of around $200 mio.

Musk lies again. Or he is absolute clueless. Or both.

"He said that the platform had been on course to spend about $5 billion in 2023. Overall costs at Twitter in 2021, the last annual period that the company reported before being taken private, were $5.6 billion, during which time it made a net loss of $221 million."

Cash flow and net loss aren't the same thing.

Twitter, despite Elon, is in fact messed up beyond belief at the company level.

I dunno. I'm enjoying. It's fun and zany like 3. I haven't sunk very many hours in yet.

I will say this though, it doesn't have 3's polish. Everything about the game is pretty B quality (voice acting, captions, graphics, etc). It's not awful, it's just not AAA. 3 was a way tighter game from a game polish and mechanics point of view. I don't know what happened to Volition but they don't seem to be able to pull off a 3 scale game anymore.

It's silly fun though. I'm probably in the minority when I say I think it's an A on the humor.
