Like it a lot, just unsure about that card based combat. It works, but I was always sort of allergic to this style.

Ah, thanks, bookmarked.

Don`t mind such games costing a bit more since one of them can last you for yonks...especially with the fan made stuff and their superb, random skirmish modes.

Just another elder dev who couldn`t stand the itch any longer: sitting at home and watching how others milk their kickstarters and what have you...no big surprise really.

HOAXAR, geddit?

DS3 locked to 60 fps? In 2016? *sadface*

It also makes for probably the most boring benchmark ever.

I`ll wait for Space Sector`s verdict and a heap of patches. Still, don`t think it`ll be a flop...too many green flags

I only discovered CM few months ago...can`t believe I missed it back in the day. Probably the most turn based fun I had since original XCOM...

Got to make a mental note of this Reichstag scenario...sounds fun.

You seem to accuse commenters of making blanket assumptions but, you seem to be doing the same about the people on here?!

Can`t really recall such an instance, but if you say so...care to jog my memory?

And even if guilty, I`m just probably trying to fit in. Leran form the best, etc

Feels more like Halo than Doom or Quake.

Really? It has sprawling open levels, groundbreaking AI, epic gfx/sfx and unmatched gameplay? Count me in then!

Seriously though, I bet most of the complainees here will reel off how bad all the bad things about this DOOM are (and they might even be right) and then happily go back to playing The Division or any other modern shooter guilty of exactly the same.

I think this was the game with the SJW consultant EA hired? If so, I'd wait for reviews unless you like a social justice agenda story with your gaming.

Would you kindly f-off to Red Pill or somewhere similarly appropriate with this tedious SJW bullshit? For once there`s an exciting game on the horizon and I have to read about a "consultant"?

Seriously, the goddamn game is not even released yet and the hard-done alpha males (yeah, right) bawww already, for no reason at all.

Get a grip, wasn`t it supposed to be that disgusting womanfolk who`s into drama and constant whining? What happened to the real man`s cojones, amigo?

Not at all. Shallow and repetitive as ED is this is worse. This is a walking simulator set in space.

I think your time machine`s broken brah. Seems you`re stuck in the period before the news blowout when the "walking sim" jibe might`ve had some merit.

Read this and tell me there`s no gameplay:how-to-play-no-mans-sky-a-detailed-breakdown

I get the hurr durr need2hate because Sony somethin hype somethin console etc but seriously, y`all is barking up the wrong planet here.

Sure, it might still turn out to be broken/lame but you can`t say this based on current info. As it is, it`s got the biggest potential to be something special, of all the games in the works now or released recently.

Well, I was generalising for the sake of the more rabid KBM zealots.

As it is though, I have no need to "dominate" and a big need to be very comfortable. For KBM you need a really good desk/chair setup which is not always possible. And even if you have that your positioning options are limited.

I just finished Crysis 2 on hardest and not for a second did I feel constrained by not using KBM. It`s just different style of play in FPSs, slower and less agile but also fun, you just have to use bit different tactics. I don`t need to jump around the map like a rabbit on meth with 360 vision, I leave it to competitive players (and so in Planetside 2 I wouldn`t venture out with the gamepad, sure). And in slower games FP games like Alien or TES/Fallout it`s vastly superior.

The biggest thing for me though is the camera and movement control. On the keyboard you have to have dedicated keys for different speeds which is a bit of a joke once you get used to analog control on the pad. Same with the camera - waving your mouse around vs nano-thumb movement on the stick is a no brainer really.

According to your site, BF4 - the FPS Holy Grail or something - has 20k players more (40k on Star wars).

It`s an awful game, sure, but if you want to have a go pick your argument better, don`t bleat on about only the dev and his cat playing it.

Because AI is generally a bad investment. In order for AI to shine, the character needs to stay alive long enough to see it. In order for that to happen, they either need to be bullet sponges or you need to be very inaccurate. Neither of those are fun. So while AI has improved, it's rare for the player to even notice. Plus, sometimes dumb AI is dumb because it's more fun for that. In real life, if a guard notices you he'll radio other guards, they'll lock the area down and turn on all the lights, and you'd be found and killed immediately. That's no fun in games, so they're coded to go "huh?!" and forget you within 30 seconds.

Sad to say but it sounds like you have been conditioned by years worth of awful shooters. Yep, I know that AI is dumbed down for a reason and it can works, however it`s an obvious point.

Halo was a groundbreaking game because of it`s ahead-of-its-time AI, and nothing comes close to what they have done since then. You could spend hours fighting just for one checkpoint on Legendary and it would be still fun because of how unpredicatble it all was. Since then only maybe Stalker and Far Cry are worth mentioning, everything else is dreck - because people don`t care for SP anymore and human AI in Multiplayer costs nothing to develop.

It just looks like a $20 indie title, rather than a big retail Witcher 3 or Mass Effect scale game.

And this is why we`ll never see a truly next-gen AAA game. Not because big corporations suck - they do - but first and foremost because gamers do not want anything that takes them out of their comfort zone.

And "where is the game?" from a guy who plays Elite:Dangerous? ROTFL.

I`m kind of glad there was no internet in the 80s. If Meier, Braben, Garriot and the rest of originators read such debilitating comments, they would go and made some spreadsheets instead of games.

People always bitch about linear shooters, but when one that isn`t appears, nobody`s interested.

The `Murica! angle aside it`s supposed to be a dynamic battlefield kind of game. Very curious if they`ll manage to pull it off...FPS AI has been put on hold since Halo, seeing as the only thing that matters these days is MP.

we never actually had funding other than the Kickstarter and our personal finances

And? Kickstarter funding should be enough, if your roadmap was thought out and sensible.

I don`t have anything against EA in general, apart from the fact they really should stop selling games which are not being worked on anymore and there`s plenty of zombies like that.
