The bethesda moneytrain stops for no one! Those were the guys who wanted to sell mods...
You forgot #ThanksBethesda!
Laughing, but in fact it`s a perfect example of PC gaming narrative delusions. It was of course Valve who came out with this glorious idea, taking only a 75% cut from the mod sale. Skyrim just happened to be the first in line.
But Bethsoft/EA/whoever are the big bad wolves of PC scene and CD Projekt/Valve the can-do-no-wrong heroes who slay beasts and save princesses. Okay, whatever rocks your boat guys.
This transpires to The Witcher itself, it`s a good game but the only flawless thing in it is the gfx. It has many questionable design decisions, and every single Witcher was a buggy mess upon release (the first one up till the Enchanced Edition) - you know, just like any other big, complex game.
It has also a completely different style from Bethesda`s RPGs, yet folks love to hate-compare the two, even though it don`t make much sense...but it`s a handy stick to bash Bethsoft some more.
In an ideal world both series would be celebrated by cRPG fans, but the one we live in, well, people love their fairytales more than reality.
