It looks interesting, but not a fan of the Pinata effect of baddies exploding and raining health and armor.

Just use your imagination. Armor is pretty easy, you can collect it off of your fallen enemies. As for health, in a lot of fantasy lore, demon blood often gives power to those who consume it, so just imagine it is healing you after killing them.

If you don't use your imagination to explain things away, the overwhelming majority of Fantasy and Science Fiction makes no sense whatsoever.

No to mention armor doesn't drop off enemies unless you use a specific rune, and the health and ammo drops are pretty rare unless you use glory kills, which can be mostly ignored.

Not to mention the plot is that you were found imprisoned in Hell because you're basically a demon killer sent from the Heavens. That killing demons is what keeps you alive and fuels you for more killing demons makes sense.

I think most people disliked the concept when watching videos, but when actually playing, you come around quickly. It keeps the flow so wonderful.

The heavens? Nowhere does it imply that. The hyperbolic verse is just to show how much hell feared him. The general consensus is that the player character is either the Doom marine after he got stuck in hell after Doom 3 RoE (Or possibly Doom 2 if you fudge the ending a bit) or that he was the last member of those Templar knights avenging his fallen civilization (Or possibly both, the Doom marine might've joined up with them beforehand, as they'd have had the same goals).

The point is, Hell fears the Doom Marine. Hoorah!! Crush those Demons Marine!

And there's evidence that it's tied into something more.

Regardless, your character is a perfect demon killing machine, and that, for some reason, killing demons fuels you, kind of fits to make that true. The demons slaughtered so many by simply existing, and you basically do the same to them.

I don`t really have anything to say, just wanted to see if I can make this multi-reply post even bigger. I already had to scroll it down, even in fullscreen on a 27".

Come on folks. There really is no need for this.

This sale shows how overpriced GOG has become. Or maybe indie gaming in general? Everything under 5 quid has been like that already for ages, the rest is still fairly dear.

Also I guess I will never get used to the fact that you can come out and ask 40 pounds (60 bucks?) for a digitally downloaded product. It`s madness.

I suspect this will be like Prototype where they replaced the main character from the first one because people complained he wasn't likeable. Then the 2nd game had an even worse main character.

A-men. Only that it`s already confirmed for me, after watching this insufferable douchetool in action.

What a disappointment. Sweet Jaysis. No big surprise, they went with a full hiptard assault, ya know, 2B down wit da kidz. Seriously, a half yupster, half Anonymous 1337 hax00r on steroids? It just couldn`t get any worse.

I was so dismayed by seeing that crap that couldn`t even pay any attention to gameplay. It will probably be great, to add insult to injury. I can`t see myself playing this, I`m way too uncool for this kinda narrative.

(Though if they lemme blow up a Google bus I might change my mind)

A company wanting DRM is there choice, but if your not using Steam that's your choice. To use the windows store you have to give up a lot more then if your just using Steam. Make a windows store version for win 7/8 and it would be fine.(Well not really but it would be better)

No, not using Steam is not my choice at all. There is no other option, you see, so there is no "choice". Before Steamworks I disliked their operation, but I had a choice: I was buying games on DVDs. Then they put their crap on everything and presto! no more choice. And so they made a pirate out of me (to answer El Pit`s post), which is quite paradoxical.

Your argument is fairly stretched anyway. Eventually you will upgrade to Win 10, because of Direct X or whatever, so it`s a moot point.

Catalyst is getting poor reviews (75 is poor for a game of this potential). Massive disappointment for me.

Hope maybe it`s one of these cases a la Far Cry 2 or (yes Watchdogs...but no too much.

Wait, Trevor, Michael or that sad Eastern European sap were charity workers, on a rescue mission a la Blues Brothers?

I`m not saying Watchdog guys was brilliant but I kind of liked that he wasn`t another cartoon character. His sidekick stole the show anyway.

And when it comes to gameplay, I`m sorry, I just can`t with this. AI dumb? To the contrary, it`s the first time in ages (ever? ) I saw such good, unscripted behaviour. When you disturbed the enemies, they wouldn`t just go back to their routes like any other game, but shit would get chaotic and unpredictable. Criminals on the run wil ldo crazy stuff, people around you will react to certain things, police will give you no quarter and you have to utilise the environment to escape.

GTA will always be kind of "fun" because their base world is superbly realised and so for example I can just drive around or fly a plane and that`s brilliant. But that`s not what these games should be about!

Instead R* scripts some missions to hell and back, so it`s actually more cutscenes than game and puts all bets on MP. I hate them for it, because if you combined GTA world with W gameplay it would be the best game ever.

To be honest, graphics weren't the only problem of that "game".. since there was barely anything to actually do and all these fancy systems were so halfheartedly implemented... doubt this one is going to be better on that front.
Ah, one of these parallel universes things I see. Watchdogs beats GTA IV/V hands down when it comes to real gameplay. I`v hardly done any story missions, because there`s just stuff happening all around and all of it it`s fun: systems that actually make use of the city and it`s denizens. Shooting is superb, driving less so but still okay, and random events pop in all the time...combined with CTOS manipulation it`s all a real sandbox.

Somehow it seems people got confused over the years and prefer to go to a yoga class, play some lame tennis, sit in an internet cafe or be harassed by phone calls from gfs/cousins. Never mind heavily scripted missions and a beautiful city devoid of any action. Each to it`s own, eh?

Blood was as great as Shogo was dull.

Still, couldn`t care less about another nostalgiophilliac money grab. Will this wave of laziness never end? Are they gonna remake the remakes when they eventually run out of corpses?

Not sure if looking like a raging hipster helps, but...

Seriously though, this will be the end of my tolerance for CCTV. Up till now I didn`t quite like it but reluctantly admitted it can be useful (accidents, assaults, burglaries etc). But if it`s gonna turn into CTOS, then I`m off.

In other news Fbook just developed a soft that will "understand" your posts. The future is bright!

I don`t know. Bullying, hate speech, harassment are serious things on one hand, on the other being arrested for telling somebody to fuck off or joking about blowing an airport is rather ridiculous.
