So it seems at least there is non-linear interesting stuff to do (aka kill/destroy), something I/II sorely lacked. But still not sold on the manic auntie-hero and the whole gameworld looks a bit bland, whereas the previous ones were visually striking.

That riff from CJ could apply to Alpha Protocol maybe, but that was some time ago and in 3D. PoE was technically sound.

When somebody calls a trailer "gameplay reveal" and then fills 90% of it with cutscenes, it makes me a bit mad, I must say.

Certainly interested in this one, good concept, promise of freedom and break away from usual tropes. How it will turn out remains to be seen, but at least hope that this world will have a bit more life in it than PoE.

Yes, but if they remade Morrowind everybody would soil their drawers, even the usual Beth-hatin` lost souls. So they would get the moolah and street cred on top (nah, I bet people woudl find the way to hate them for that too)

Okay, my question was kind of rhetorical, obviously it`s easier to "remaster" Skyrim since they don`t really have to do anything, just slap some new textures on and add few post processes. Morrowind would require some serious work since combat would have to be completely redone. Cheeep cheep

This is the first time I seriously get annoyed with this lot. FO4 is amazing but with that old ass engine they`re really pushing their luck. Now this

I just can`t fathom this. The obvious, logical step would be to remaster Morrowind/Oblivion - you know, the games that really need this, not Skyrim which has proper gamepad support and which with few mods looks like million dollars anyway.

I can bet any money that their "remaster" won`t look any better than the one I built recently (and which still runs at min 60 fps). The are not gonna change the engine, so geometry/LOD will be the same. So what is the god damn point of this exercise?

What a terrible game to put on VR. Seeing as Skyrim and Fallout are just for nekked people mods, seeing as the actual games have bad quests, kill loot return, VR pron should be a huge hit. And so its come to this for Fallout, nothing left of the great originals and Fallout in name only.

Seems you missed the whole point of TES/FO games by a country mile. Just like true Witcher fan would I suppose.

VR-with-everything starts getting on my nerves a bit tbh. next 5 years will be hard to stomach I guess.

Dishonored was cool however not really up there with Thief and best Looking Glass games. Somehow got a feeling this will be more of the same - not necessarily a bad thing, but not the true greatness either.

Prey 2 was supposed to be a groundbreaking open-emergent-play FPS. No wonder it fizzled out. However Arkane are one of the truly original and competent studios left out there, so this definitely piqued my interest.

I always thought I`m a insufferable cynic, but you guys are really light years ahead. How on Earth is it possible to divine anything from this no-gameplay teaser? Well, it isn`t, yet the game has been judged already.

Other thing, Quake being a competitive arena MP game is a bad thing? Come again? That`s what Quake was always all about. Q1 SP was a joke, rather boring in Q2 and then rightfully abandoned. Meanwhile its MP is a golden standard, unmatched to this day. So, I don`t really get what the upset is all about.

Ah, what a tasty drama, and straight from the Dsmart`s mouth

Sadly, I went over to the dark side and can`t enjoy it no more...
Now I want this:
"capital ships will be in battle with fighters while people can EVA over to the capital ship, breach the hull, have FPS combat on board the capital ship while the space battle rages on and damage is calculated in minute detail. People eject from their ships, pilots float in space, rescue missions are generated... "

So I hate CIG but I want the game. What a brainfuck. Maybe they could bankrupt and donate the assets* to some devs with a clue?

*I know I know, these don`t really exist

E3 trailer shot in a bullshot filter OMG STOP THE PRESS.

Looks fairly impressive, at least kudos for trying some new conflict era. But gameplay is probably MP on steroids and I want SP that has advanced AI and open area warfare. So there`s that.

And this is why Valleywag was brilliant, calling out our new Sillicon V overlords. Also a non-direct reason why Gawker is going down.

Vile scum, but it`s not only them. This trend of making things unrepairable has been going on for a while.

These guys fight the good fight, but not many in the normal world really care. "Just buy a new one" mentality is taking over.

Ah, I was wondering if there`s something wrong with the world and why we haven`t had a SC thread for ages

Funny thing is, my feelings about this subject did a 180 over last month or two. Year ago I was reading Derek Smart`s blog and chuckling with glee. Today I actually want CIG to succeed.

For some reason, I got hit by massive SPAAAAACE bug recently and started playing all the available cockpit-based universes (might have to do with gamepad being a game changer). X, Evochron, Oolite - even bought Elite Dangerous, despite also being in the anti-ED camp before.

I still despise Mr Braben for some of his tactics, but there`s no denying E:D is nothing short of awesome (spare yourself the effort, I read all the naysaying beforehand). So if there`s even a remote chance CIG will eventually pull it off, I`m rooting for them to do so.

Even if they`re a bunch of leeches and scamsters

Yeah, sure as hell it was a "revenge porn campaign". Nice little narrative, especially for people who a) hate Gawker for whatever reason b)feel the need to ride a high horse for a minute or two and get their opinions from skimming the headlines.

But here`s another: Hulk, who spent half his life boasting `bout his dick-related prowess didn`t care a jot about the sex tape and instead tried to hide the fact he was dropping n-bombs on one of these tapes.
http://gawker.com/the-hogan-verdict-1766460791

Sounds plausible to me. Besides it`s not even the main point, like I said the real story here is that this has-been redneck was used by Thiel to destroy a publication, and how on earth such ridiculous amount of damages was awarded. But never mind that, it`s easier to stick to simple stories I suppose.

I really don`t get the whole hate thing. Only started visiting Gawker few months ago, so after the whole past drama, but still can`t understand the outrage.

They are a tabloid website not some super serious paper and never pretended otherwise so while Thiel outing/Hulk tape might be seen as questionable, is it really that bad compared to standard TMZ and co fare?

And then there`s the whole thing with Thiel being a scumbag and using Hulk as a proxy to get at them, funding his trial and also other claimants that came out of the woodwork. If anything, I find some libertarian hypocrite using his billions to silence a publication much more outrageous. I also doubt very much it`s about his closet secret and more about constant ragging from Valleywag about the Sillicon Valley bullshit - something I actually liked very much (I don`t care much for Gawker/Giz/Jez itself but that was priceless).

I doubt many of these projects will ever get finished/released. And some of those games are "inspired by Lovecraft" and not really based on his work. We will see.

Ditto. See: That Which Sleeps.

At least most of them seem to move away from the godawful post-pop-ironic take on the mythos, something I could never really comprehend.

Sadly, Mr Fargo is one of the past heroes turned into shills and his game is strictly smoke and mirrors. Not to be trusted, especially with another remake on the horizon (Bard`s Tale).

Who needs a Skyrim remaster FFS!!10101!? Get a few mods together and this game is pretty 2016.

Now Morrowind or Oblivion remaster, sweet Jaysis, this is what would get me salivating. I have a bit of OCD when it comes to running them in a perfect 1:1 quality and it`s just simply impossible. Morrowind with Overhaul mod on Average quality is actually slower than Skyrim wit 60 mods on my machine and Oblivion always has some kind of stutter going on (I spent literally weeks trying to fix it to no avail).
