All the unity games I have do a borderless full screen. That's why there's no in game brightness setting for the new Homeworld games. It's also why you can alt-tab so quickly in and out of the game.

Edit-OK, nm.. looks like they patched a method in. Only works in DX9 mode though.

yeh thats why vsync never works for me in Unity games unless i force the dx9 renderer... super fucking annoying

thats true - to be fair most of the early games hid all the ancient aliens stuff until the very last second or under lots of cryptic bullshit..

definitely surprised me tho - so, to dismiss that seems odd - but totally expected because im sure this movie is not being made by gamers, but movie people

I'm not so sure that it's as automatic as you suggest. I've read interviews with lower tier actors who have lamented not becoming the next Brad Pitt or Harrison Ford. Mark went from starring in one of the most beloved and iconic movies ever made to doing TV work and then voice acting. There are lots of ways Hamill could have viewed and reacted to this progression, but he chose to react positively and embrace it. He could have chosen alcohol or drugs, as many others have.

thats just an abnormal psyche... to further my point about logic - anyone with abnormal psyche issues will always be controlled, motivated, driven, etc. by those abnormal issues until they are resolved

doesnt matter how rich or poor you are

but in this case, lets say a psychologically healthy person has 3 kids, a dead end job at the power plant, etc. - they have reason to be unhappy

lets say a psychologically healthy person is a multi-million dollar actor, beloved by countless fans all over the world - they have a reason to be happy

you could say "wow - that mega rich actor doesnt have any psychological problems... thats so inspiring" but to me thats just completely fucking ridiculous.. like utterly twisted ridiculous

not unexpected at all, however

We don't want this to be a superhero film, we want it to be a film that embraces what it is to be human. All our jumps and all our parkouring, it has to feel as though you're watching it and thinking, on a good day I could do this. Otherwise I think it goes into a fantasy, which I don't think the game is about.

well then obviously you havent played it or know anything at all about the background story... which is maybe important when you are the director of the film?

but i guess if you are just trying to make a good movie, dont really matter.. wont really have much ass creed in it, but hey - a mans gotta eat right

yeh the modern info is indicating that the first immigrants to north america came from the much more easily accessible paths up through mexico and the caribbean

in peru there were thriving civilizations rivaling the size of sumeria and egypt around the same time they were, so its not really surprising some migrations would have happened before then

also the idea that all humans originated in africa has been getting progressively more complicated as well under modern research.. its not nearly as clear cut as that apparently

Are FPS games now considered MOBA's? I don't understand this.

It's like how Deus Ex is a FPS with RPG elements.

[...]

i hate when people say this... Deus Ex is not an RPG, and there's no such thing as "RPG elements"

you google this and see stupid sites like Giant Bomb actually make it a thing, but it's these silly game reviewers that really coined the term and not real game designers

a Role Playing Game must conform to all of the rules mentioned here:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Role-playing_game

this only applies in your own teeny, tiny, meaningless little world

While I have disposable income these days, I still can't justify the high prices at times when I have other priorities to pay for such as I don't know... RENT, car payment, student loan, electric, phone, FOOD, etc. It makes it hard at times to include full priced games, but it's what I enjoy. Gaming. Does that mean I should be excluded because I can't afford to pay full price at times?

I wasn't aware we were all entitled to the luxury items that we want regardless of our ability to pay. I should try that tactic when I replace my car in a few years and see if I can leverage my used Corolla budget to get a new Porsche.

Were not talking about jacking a Porsche here.

Agreed. It looks fast, and the amount of enemies looks like old Doom (except now with jumping, but man, he's jumping all over the place to pick enemies off without staying still. Just totally working the room like I feel I used to in DM maps.)
Oh boy, I'm so gonna play that on hard difficulty tonight and I usually always play on easy

I'm definitely keeping this on my "watch list", but I'd like to see more options for espionage, subterfuge and general sneakiness. Space is huge and I don't think that its territory should be treated like territory on land. There should be options for moving around and taking meaningful actions without necessarily being detected.

yes they all need to take a hint from the various options available in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series... very robust politics/espionage/relations/etc.

It's one of the better games story wise, I did play through a bunch of sidequests and the main one but it got pretty easy once you have outleveled everything, going to go for a 2nd playthrough on higher difficulty once the final expac is out and I have my new GPU.

also a few of the signs are basically "god mode" once you have them maxed out... changing the difficulty doesnt help much, just makes things weirder because its all super dangerous but still easy

with that said, the game's story is the best in recent memory for me.. the main story along with the consequential side quests and the size of the world really gives you that feeling of the Epic Quest - unlike skyrim where you only get the surface trimmings of that feeling

cant recommend it enough really

i find most grand strategy games pretty lite on content (except CK... thats in another dimension) after the initial few games - until DLC or updates, etc.

it just seems to be a limitation of the genre because nobody really bothers to make a truly revolutionary AI that can come up with new shit on the fly or something similiar
